I think that only Howard and FA already haven't realized that Webb not that it isn't a good ref, but actually is a terrible one.
 
Webb doesn't give anyone anything, hes one of those refs who is 'afraid of runining the spectacle' he would rather ignore most things.
 
Liverpool's defence is garbage, so we have a chance. If we can defend as solid as we've done in our last 3 league games, we could nick a win.

No Valencia or Young. Same team as yesterday, thereabouts. Though I'd like to see Kagawa and Mata play together, interchanging with Rooney. Januzaj to come off the bench. Have it!

I've been of this thought lately, it's easy to get carried away as his potential os obvious to see but his lack of experience means he's not as effective as you'd expect from the hype

Yeah, he's just lost a bit of form and confidence really since his penalty miss against Sunderland, not surprising considering our form has been awful since the turn of the year. Much more difficult to stick out when playing alongside Mata, Rooney and Van Persie as well compared to Welbeck, Young and Valencia.
 
We have to at least take points off Liverpool. Simply have to.
 
All depends on how we set up, set up to not lose and we will lose, set up to attack, we will lose. I feel we should let them have the ball personally and see if they are capable of breaking us down. Gerrard's position could suit us if we stick Rooney in his face and look to disrupt him building from the back. They will be favourites on form but if we manage to pick the right personnel, it will be game on.

Yep, his season is very similar to Sterling's last year.

One of Young and Valencia starting is pretty much inevitable, I think. Mata, Rooney and RvP are guaranteed starters too if they're fit.
 
Really difficult to call this one. Last time we played at OT United were 2-0 up & coasting. With Suarez isolated up front for the first half, we offered no attacking threat whatsoever. The introduction of Sturridge in the 2nd half meant we were able to to put more pressure on, & ask more questions, of your defence. I'm hopeful we can do this right from the off next week. If we do, then I reckon it should be a cracking match.

If we don't concede the first goal, I think we will win the game. Take out the Athens debacle, I get the feeling the team is starting to find it's shape. Liverpool will punish us if we give them opportunities, but I'm liking the cover Fellaini is starting to offer the defence. If I was Rodgers I would plan to attack down the right and give Evra a beasting - the weak link in our best 11.
 
Liverpool are talking about the title push so surely the pressure is on them? Surely?

That means we'll win and everything will go back to normal in due course.

Nope. Last time you came to OT you had a strong first XI, with both Sturridge and Suarez up front, whereas we had a few players missing and out of position.

We won 1-0, fairly comfortably.
 
I'm quietly confident about this. In our last two league games, we've scored 5 without reply. We've got Rooney, RvP, Mata, Rafa and Januzaj all fit. Fellaini is starting to resemble the player he was at Everton - and that is a very good player.

There have been so many false dawns this season that i'm not going to get my hopes up. And nor do I want to give off a 'This Is Our Cup Final' type mentality, which leaves you open to accusations of being small time.

But it is a huge game, and hopefully pride in the shirt, a raucous crowd, and the not insignificant amount of talent we have at our disposal (provided it is used correctly) can see us do a job on Liverpool.

It may still ultimately be for nothing, but if we can finish the season strongly, at least we can have a bit of hope going into the next one.

Yep, it was Suarez's first game back. It was a tight affair and had Moses, Sturridge and Suarez not been rusty we'd have drawn at least I think.

I'm hoping for the same side that played against West Brom and I'm hoping we don't get fecking mullered.
 
I think we can exploit the space around the box with late runs from midfield as Gerrard will be forced to mark. Rooney will have to drop deep unless Afroman can find the space.
 
God, the main question is what United team show up.

Liverpool are riding the crest of a positive wave that has seen their form make an exact 180 degree turn to that of Uniteds. . I don't think it will matter how Liverpool play if United clicks, likewise I don't think it will matter how good/bad Liverpool are if United play muck. I think United on paper is stronger, but team cohesion and confidence means more in the current climate.

I actually think Arsenal are more likely to collapse then Liverpool on current form . . BUT . .

If United can beat Liverpool in a convincing manner and beat West Ham in the next game, it will be interesting to see if Liverpools confidence will be rocked. Nobody knows how Liverpool will perform with a bit of pressure - pressure that none of the following pack outside of the top 4 have been really putting on them.

Put short, If united beat Liverpool convincingly it will be as important to gauge how Liverpool respond in their next game as it will be for united to keep winning...
 
Liverpool are an intense team to meet these days, they really make you work for your points. One slip up and that is the end of the night, kind of how we have been playing ourselves a lot of the time under Fergie.

I think Fellaini and Carrick will be bypassed too easily by Sturridge and Suarez. So preferably I'd like to see Jones play in the midfield with Smalling-Evans in the team.

Vidic would also be very suspect against Suarez/Sturridge pace and dribbling.

The difficulty against City/Liverpool is that almost all teams plays 4-2-3-1 so teams are used to facing it. Against City/Liverpool you are up against something you don't face week in - week out.

I'd probably play a 4-3-3 with Jones at the bottom of the triangle. That way Suarez/Sturridge would always be up against three defenders even at their best counter-attacks. Cleverley should be changed for Carrick/Fellaini though.

This is proably the least hopeful I've been for a long time with a liverpool team coming to OT. They are great attacking. Defensively, in general this season, we have been a bit shite. Their defense is their weakness, but then again if we just pile loads of crosses in then that will probably be quite easy to deal with. Quick one touches, movement...rather like we started doing at WBA - and perhaps we might sneek a win.
 
Perfect game this for the 'Moyes Out' Ihni binni dimi diniwiny anitaime. If United win, they can go on about how happy they are to have beaten LFC etc, if United get beat, they can harp on the same **** about how Moyes is dragging us down and we will be relegated next season yada yada. Would absolutely love for us to really play well against Liverpool and get a great result - would be interesting to see how the 'Moyes needs to go' thread would react.
 
As Gerrard said if you want to play two at the back against Sturridge and Suarez, good luck to you.
 
I think we'll see Mata down one side and Valencia down the other. Valencia of a few years ago would have been a good player for this game, hopefully he could serve up something like that.

What worries me are the runners from deep that Liverpool use to penetrate. I can't help but thinking starting Mata and Januzaj would be suicidal with that in mind.
