Manchester United vs. Liverpool

There is no good reason to play Nani or Kagawa ahead of Januzaj or Welbeck. Nani has been out for months and Kagawa is not suited to a high intensity game like this. Can see Young or Valencia getting the nod since they are fit and Moyes likes them.
Kagawa I can see playing ahead of Januzaj as he's off form, Kagawa has looked decent in his last few sub appearances and he's sure to start in the Olympiacos game I think. Also he's better defensively then Januzaj. Nani isn't fully fit though, no chance. He needs to get a few sub appearances first and then a start. Maybe start next weekend against whoever, but subs against Liverpool and Olympiacos first.

Raf---------Jones--------Smalling-----Evra

-----------Carrick---------Fellaini----------

------Wellbeck------Mata------Rooney----

----------------------RVP-------------------

Can see Wellbeck in this for his workrate, would be able to rotate that 3 across the front. Another option is leaving out RVP altogether and having Rooney up top and bringing in Young, would give us workrate and cover as Rooney would put a shift in, especially having him in Gerrards face gives us the ability to stop a few hollywoods.

This will be really shit if we lose, not just because it's the dippers but every win or two raises my hopes. We've been brought back down to earth too many times this season.

Moyes will get slaughtered if he goes with Valencia or Young, and they play badly and we lose.

One of Valencia or Young will start, if not both. I'm not sure either would be as bad as starting Nani who hasn't played in 3 months though.

Monster game this one. It seems like a while that a Utd v Liverpool clash has had this level of importance to me anyway. Liverpool need a win to give themselves a real chance of winning the title and we need a win to stop Liverpool in their tracks and give us a boost going in to the CL game next week.

Mata, Rooney, van Persie will all start. It's just who will occupy the other gap. I'm going for Welbeck.

Mata to score his debut goal, we should win 2-0 or 3-1.

Surely not a serious line up? Do you want us to get hammered?

Are Liverpool coming in as favourites for this ? I think in their heads they will be. First 20 minutes will be their usual swarm before running out of steam then as teams start to press they counter and score, we should look to get onto them right from the start and break up the game plan.
Second half game plan is exactly the same but they don't last as long, if we can allow them the ball and play them exactly like you do Arsenal that's probably the best way to derail them. Rooney will be closing down Gerrard every chance he gets, his fitness could run Gerrard into the ground by the hour.

I have feeling RvP will be on the subs bench for Liverpool. Just so he can be fresh for the Champions league game.

It's really crazy to think we're playing for literally nothing for the rest of the season and yet, these next three games will define us and Moyes.

Crazy year

Rooney will drop deeper to help the midfield out but whether Moyes employs a double pivot or anchor man I don't know. He can easily switch between the two therefore I would start off with 4-5-1 and switch to 4-4-1-1 if it isn't working. The 4-5-1 would see RVP, Welbeck (LAM) and Mata break with Rooney and even Fellaini joining from central midfield.

My guess is it'll be a tight 1-0 or 2-1 either way. Like the games against Arsenal and the two against Liverpool already. I imagine the issue after the match will be that we barely created anything, so hopefully we can keep a clean sheet.

For years and years, form went out of the window when Liverpool were shit and they were always a danger apparently. Now we're shit, the world is predicting a repeat of 2009 or worse.

Read that we've won the last 6 at OT against this mob.
Would be a perfect boost going into the Olympiakos game midweek.

Definitely feel it's a game for Welbeck to come in. He'll have to be shunted into one of the wide positions though. Otherwise it'll be Valencia, can't see Januzaj starting this one. More likely on Wednesday when we have to go all in.

Draw this weekend, finish off any slight chance they have of winning the title, finish season, sack Moyes, start new season and move on from this ridiculous feckery of Liverpool being above us in the league.

I seriously hope we don't revert back to old mistakes this weekend.

Evra

Carrick
Fellaini

Mata
Rooney
Januzaj/Kawaga

Welbeck

Can't decide between Adnan or Kagawa, but would be happy with either.

Welbeck's ability to defend from the front and hold the ball up will be vital and a seat on the bench won't do RVP any harm.

Please, no Valencia or Young.
Pretty much my views, whilst hoping that Rafael will ok to start, and Fellaini continues his improvement.

I fancy Welbeck working the Liverpool defence in both attack and defense. I am also thinking of a special role for Kagawa: shutting down Gerrard and stopping Liverpool using him the way they might like; I think this would also put Kagawa in a good part of the pitch when we regain possession with a good opportunity to find space with his intelligence and pace.

De Gea
Rafael - Smalling - Jones - Evra
Fellaini - Carrick
Valencia - Rooney - Mata
Van Persie

Lindegaard - Vidic - Cleverley - Young - Januzaj - Welbeck - Hernandez

I'll be surprised if this wasn't the team

and even that 1-4 was a most bizarre game. I remember us comfortably 1-0 up with a Ronaldo goal, then Vidic and Evra who had superb seasons both made big mistakes in the same game.
Vidic got sent off I think, and then they added a 4th late on, to make it sound a thrashing.

I like to see a similar line-up used against Madrid last season. Gerrard now playing a deeper role I'd ask Welbeck's to mark him out of the game. Gerrard has lost his legs and would struggle containing Welbecks pace and power when we're in possession. Similar to Madrid game when Alonso was marked out of the game.

The same team as last match, by far the best team we can start at this time. At home, there should be no Place for players like Valenica, Young and Welbeck.

Welbeck is far too good to be on that list and I wouldn't have any qualms about playing him tomorrow.

This is what I thought too. Get Welbeck in there taking Gerrard out of the game and also putting huge pressure on Toure too.

It would be an advantage having Van Persie to bring off the bench rather than Welbeck IMO.

Gerrard isnt that good now to merit such a tactic.
