Manchester United v Olympiakos

On balance I'd like us to win but still go out rather than get absolutely thrashed and humiliated in the next round.

And I hope the fans turn on Moyes at the end. No shame in that now.

They will score so we will need to score 4. It isn't going to happen. I always want us to win and go as far as possible, but coming up against Real/Bayern/Barcelona in the next round would be utterly humiliating.

We need to be inventive and attacking enough to score 3 goals all the while being tactically and defensively sound so we don't concede what would be a tie ending goal. We simply do not possess the mentality to achieve a result like this against anybody as we have been so poorly managed. I think it will be a score draw, we will be out and everyone will be waiting to hear later that night or early the following morning of the manager being sacked.

Absolutely cannot wait for this game. It's games like this why owning a season ticket is so special, the atmosphere will be incredible. United have had a lot of stick about the atmosphere at OT but when our backs our against the wall (as they have been for most of this season) the fans seriously step it up and its pretty incredible. Win, lose or draw the atmosphere will be great and the fans will be completely behind the team.

Each and every positive prediction of mine regarding the team has come out horribly wrong this season. So, 3-1 to Olympiakos in this one.

Who the F cares about the team or formations at this point. Just freaking win and stop making a fool of yourselves.

Not sure if serious

I agree with that chap, whether he's being sarky or not.

Am much more looking forward to this one than the Pool game!!

An early goal and it could be a great night.
Obviously conceding an early goal and it'll be a disastrous one

Don't care about lineups. Moyes has literally killed any sort of excitement that Utd games used to bring.

This. The only reason I'm looking forward to games these days is because they hasten the possibility of him getting sacked.

I'm actually feeling quite emotional about tomorrow night. Could be our last CL night for a long time. Could be. Lets hope we bounce back next season.

You are right. It will be emotional but that stupid clown will still think the sound is for him.

Only if Moyes manages to feck up the summer by signing dross at high wages and fee. We're patient but not idiots, I dont think he'l survive further than Dec next year at worse.

We will be eliminated no question, we might win by a goal, but likely it will be a score draw. Being 2-0 down with the fear of conceding an away goal that would require us to score 4 requires a focused, disciplined, attacking and determined mindset, we don't possess any of those qualities.
Moyes won't even set us up to win by more than 2 goals. Remember Sunderland at OT in the League Cup? We actually wanted to take it into the extra time. Against Sunderland. At home.

Yep. All that complacency of thinking we'd cruise through the group stages each year, people seeing it as an inconvenience having to bin off their tickets to those games etc.

Tomorrow could well be the last one for ages.

Though I still think we'll sneak through.

He won't know what to do and that will transmit to the players. To get through this will require a good tactical approach and a finely focused determined set of players, that ain't us. Logically we are going out if we don't score goals so it makes no sense not to at least try to attack, he will try to do that but he is not capable of doing it properly, we will huff and puff as per usual in a tactically naive and aimless manner leaving gaps all over the back and will likely concede as many as we do manage to score.

I can imagine us scoring three goals then Evra or someone switching off and we concede one in the last minute. With the way this season is going, I can see that realistically happening and Moyes then saying at least we scored 3.

Not sure I can wake up at 4:30am for this. (Although I suppose I should as it might be the last time for a few years)

Moyes would probably think we're through if we won 3-1
He isn't used to 2 legged football matches

We'll come out to an incredible atmosphere. The players will give it their all in a frantic beginning; and then we'll concede an early goal from a break away. Game over.

Rest if the evening will be a lame duck. Fans will stay behind the team.

I think we'll draw. Moyes' banner will unfurl much like the penultimate scene in Jurassic Park. With the roaring T. rex replaced with Ferguson, obviously.

There will be a mass exodus 10 minutes before the end. The Stretford End will chant defiantly, there will be a few boos and Moyesey will think he's safe.

Build the team around Rooney and we got this.

-----------Rooney---------
Januzaj---Kagawa---Nani
-----Jones------Fellaini----

DDG
Rafael-Vida-Jones-Evra
Fellaini-Carrick
Januzaj-Kagawa-Rooney
RVP

I hope to see:

DDG
Rafael Jones Vidic Evra
Fletcher Fellaini
Januzaj Rooney Kagawa
Welbeck

RvP and Rooney just isn't working, we could use Welbeck's energy and movement up top. Ideally I'd have Mata behind Rooney but that's obviously impossible for this game. Carrick has been dreadful so I'd give Fletcher the start over him. Smalling and Evans both appear to be injured so Vidic and Jones seem the most likely. Kagawa gets the start as well, he's done well in the champions league this season and he can't do any worse than Valencia or Young would do.
