Manchester United v Aston Villa

Means Welbeck and Januzaj to start against Bayern, finally we start attacking at home.

So it's better to play a right back at left back and a right winger at right back rather than playing Rafael and Buttner. Madness.
Why is it madness? What determines a left back or right back? Whether they are left or right footed? If so, I give you Denis Irwin and Fabio. Both right footed players who could play left back.

As for Valencia, he is solid and will work hard! Sorry KM, but having Buttner at left back is what will be madness against Robben.

At least he's giving Butner game time so come the Bayern match he won't get dominated as bad. I guess that shows forward planning. Also after last week why is Young getting another game?

It's the same front 6 that played against West Ham and did well. You'd expect that Valencia and Welbeck will start vs. Bayern on the wings, and we'll need them to be full of energy.

I'm surprised Buttner is playing since he'll more than likely be playing against Bayern too as Evra is suspended for that.

Moyes' refusal to give Welbeck any kind of chance in his actual position is getting incredibly fecking tedious.

Not a single defender on the bench again. Evra must be injured, as well as Evans, Smalling and Ferdinand.

Valencia has been awful defensively this season. I don't want to compromise Rafael's effective at right back either!

Giving him game time is so important. We can't expect to throw him in against Robben with the bare minimum of games under his belt.

On paper good front three.Guessing they will switch positions throughout the game.

Seriously hope Kagawa isn't playing as an out and out winger today. Januzaj benched again? Will he be getting frustrated?

When has Kagawa ever played as an out and out winger? He is always given license to drift inside.

And Buttner against Robben? I know what I'd have tried leading up to that match. Why not try Rafael there and see how he plays? What have we got to lose at all? You saying Valencia has been awful at defending all season, yet Buttner hasn't been much better. The fact that Buttner hardly ever plays either is a cause for concern too.

Tbh KM, you can call it madness, but when you actually look at it logically you can't deny it was worth a punt.

I guess yeah, but the other side of it is that if something happens to him in this game we'll be left in a very awkward situation.

Five of that front six did well, there was one who looked out of sync with everyone else. If Januzaj wasn't an option I would expect Young to play because I too think we'll go with Welbeck and Valencia at Bayern but we do and he hasn't played since the Liverpool game.

Well it'd be Valencia against Ribery then!

Worth a punt but I'd definitely start Rafael and Buttner.

Well the cynic might say that we're playing Young to put him in the shop window and ensure we get a half decent fee for him in the summer, the optimist might say we're giving Januzaj a needed break from.

I think it's a combination of both.

I agree we are not the best team in the world - but that team is more than good enough to beat a team that was trashed 1-4 at home to Stoke last week.

I tend not to be that optimistic these days when it comes to the team. To be fair it's a minor grievance and the team is still more than capable of beating Villa. Just would have liked to see Januzaj play alongside both Kagawa and Mata with Rooney up top.

Good lineup, glad he's gone with the Kags, Mata, Rooney trio. Not too bothered Young is starting, Welbeck rested and we need some pace.

Only concern is without Carrick or Evans there's no one to play out from the back.

You have to say Moyes' has handled the plane thing pretty well.

Moyes saying the fans would have been better off putting money into the Darren Fletcher charity fund, rather than the plane banner
