There was a big gash just above his shin. Hopefully for him it's just a deep cut and some stitches will sort it.

Possibly. It's also one of the easiest areas to expose with little skin, muscle, and tissue coverage. I've cut myself there a few times. But at that pace and colliding with a hard, immovable object... egads.
Atletico still beat Barca without him, so it's not like they're doomed in their last games of the season. It'd be much more difficult without their best player though.

Hitting your knee as hard as that hurts like a bastard in itself. When I bang my knee into the leg of a table or whatever at much slower speed I feel like it's about to fall off.

I really don't understand that injury. That gash looked huge and deep.
Missed it in real time so assumed someone did a Nani-Carragher on him. Wouldn't have thought contact with a post would lead to that.

They're not a one man team. Yes, losing Costa would be a big blow, but I'd still fancy them to finish the job in Primera and at least reach the Champions League final.
Ffs, this is horrible.
Four wins out of five is definitely manageable, as would progressing to the final without him. Don't think they'd score enough consistently without Costa to do both though. Anyway, probably best to just wait and see what the doctors say before worrying.
