Recommend me some classic Swedish films (that aren't Bergman), @R.N7 . My roommate is away for a fortnight so I have the TV to myself for once.

One of the most beautiful films I've ever seen. It deserves a lot more accolades than it has.I Am Cuba - A dreamy and visually extravagant propaganda ride through post-revolution Cuba. It's definitely up there as one of the best shot films ever, very unique and innovative cinematography. Good film.
I've no idea how they pulled off that descending tracking shot from the rooftop to the pool. Paul Thomas Anderson paid homage to it in Boogie Nights.
@Red Shorts and @Snake Plissken what did you think of the first?
That didn't get good write ups either but I really enjoyed it
You should never take the storylines of superhero films seriously, it automatically lowers your experience. The action parts were great I thought, and the most enjoyable parts of the film bar Scarlett Johanson in spandex which is always a winner.
Falcon is a bit silly, and someone they could have done much better. His one liners were very basic and unimaginative too, but seemed to get laughs in the cinema.
That would be valid in most cases, except this one set itself up as a serious film.
Yeah.. that's kinda my problem with Man of Steel and Dark Knight Rises - I perfectly enjoy comic book films which are completely brainless and have incredible plot holes if they're self aware and going at it from an entertainment perspective.
When they try to pass themselves off as serious crime dramas or sci-fi then I pay more attention to the plotlines and find them frustrating. I haven't got the 'serious' vibe from the trailers yet mind?
Thor, Iron Man, and Hulk are individually more badass but they don't generally work well with others because they are flawed characters. Captain America serves as their leader/strategist and was able to reunite them in the first movie. Hawkeye and Black Widow are pointless though.
Isn't Captain America basically just a metaphor for steroids?
That was Nick Fury's job.
Oh Nick Fury has the best SUV in the world in Captain America. I want it.
I enjoyed the film actually though I felt it didn't focus enough on the Winter Soldier (who we'll see in the next one though I guess), thought the plot was ok and Redford was good fun in his part. I was entertained by it, and that's about as much as I ask from these films.
Can someone explain to me the post credits scene though? Were those guys in cages part of the X-Men universe?

Cheers for the info. Fox can't use the term 'mutants' in its films? Those two are Scarlet Witch and Quicksilver, who are Magnetos children I believe? Fox has their license so here, instead of being called Mutants (fox has license to that term also), they will be referred to as super soldiers. The guy that speaks is Baron Von Strucker, who is a Captain America villain.
Fox can, Disney (who own Marvel) cantCheers for the info. Fox can't use the term 'mutants' in its films?![]()
Ninotchka - Being such a Swedish cinephile and all I thought I'd watch at least one film starring Greta Garbo. For being such a big name she never really starred in any films worthy of real note, this being the most noteworthy, I think. Anyway, it was was it was, these kinds of screwball comedies have aged quite horribly, t'was an alright time waster I guess.
