Does Giggsy have his coaching badges? And does he have any knowledge of setting up tactics for a game? :)

I'd love to see Giggs give himself some playing time for these last few games and score at least one. Do you reckon he's going to call it a day as a player at the end of this season?

yes. He will go on to manage a club in the Championship I feel...or Wales....not sure what the current contract is with their current manager.

As for the last 4 matches...he wont be out for personal glory. He is committed to doing the best for United.

I don't think it's that unrealistic. It's gonna be tough to motivate the players. We literally have nothing to play for.

Yep . the players dont even have a manager to impress in order to stay at the club next season. Literally nothing to motivate except personal pride.

I didn't think he was too popular with the arsonists. One Welsh bloke I knew used to call him "sicknote" because he would withdraw from the Wales team supposedly to keep himself in shape for a big United game. Mind you, the taff concerned was an Arsenal fan.

yeah...I have heard those complaints by Welsh fans....but Giggs is a Legend and will command respect from the Welsh players....and they could do with qualifying for a major tournament.

I don't think they've qualified for a major tournament in my lifetime. Oh wait, they did go to Sweden in 1958 but I was a young child at the time. I went to the odd Home International when I lived in the smoke in the days of Leighton James and Mike England, but they decided to stop those. Pity really as they were enjoyable games at season's end.

I swear mate...we must have been standing next to each other at some of the matches. Yeah. I damn missed those Home Championships.

With Moyes gone I have no idea what the lineup will be. Quite exciting.

I don't think lineups will change dramatically or there will be something unexpected there but we might see players playing with more intent.

Players will play out of their skin now that Moyes is gone and it is Giggsy in the dugout. A game that I am really looking forward to. The atmosphere won't be dull, United's spirit will hopefully be back.

I don't think we will see much change in terms of formation or players (I'll be surprised if microphone plays though) the big difference will be the way we attack with little worry about being caught out of position or losing shape.

Managed to get myself a ticket to this and I can't wait for Saturday now!! Hoping for a great atmosphere with Giggs in the dugout.

I don't expect an easy win, but I expect the players to play out of their skin now the shackles are off.

Rafael injured?

------- Smalling-----Vidic-----------
--Valencia---------------------Evra--
-----------Carrick----Jones----------
---Rooney------Kagawa-----Welbeck
---------------Hernandez------------

Lindegaard, Evans, Fletcher, Cleverly, Mata, Januzaj, Nani

PACE, POWER, ATTACK-ATTACK-ATTACK!

Mata on the bench for when Kagawa tires - Mata on for last 20 min, to skillfully administer the Coup de grâce. (before that he's no use as he can't run or tackle)
Don't want Fellaini any where near a shirt - send him a message.
Rehabilitate Cleverly - even if it's just to get a decent price for him. (£27 million to Everton?)
Nani - I'm feeling soft here - needs some pitch time before the world cup but really, I'd love Giggs to bring through a youngster.

You don't like Mata, we get it, OK?

Talk of Cleverley being used in a more advanced position behind 2 strikers. What does that mean for Mata then. Will he now be benched under Giggs or will Giggs use Mata in a more deep lying role and help start moves from the back, as Mata is not the quickest and Giggs will want to get a lot of pace in our counter-attacking play.

De Gea

Rafael --- Jones --- Evans --- Evra

Januzaj --- Mata --- Kagawa

Cleverley

Rooney --- Welbeck
Do we think Giggs would go for the above, 4-3-1-2, or will it be a straight 4-4-2/4-4-1-1 and stick with width on the counter-attack?

De Gea

Rafael --- Jones --- Evra --- Evra

Januzaj --- Cleverley --- Mata --- Kagawa

Rooney ---

--- Welbeck
Just to add; We all would have liked Giggs to managed United one day. Now he's got the opportunity for the next 4 games, next 3 being at home. The roof is going to come off Old Trafford. Everyone cheering on Giggs, the team and there does look to be more optimism about the future. I would have given Moyes more time but results went against him and it is a results-based industry so the Glazers had no choice. Still a bit rubbish on how they did it but I've no doubt Moyes will get another job real soon and look to re-build his reputation.

Anyway, lets look ahead to Saturday and to the future......C'MON UNITED!!!!

Obviously Mata, a player who got 20 goals and 35 assists last year and has been Chelsea's player of the year twice, can't run or tackle.
My claim is that he can't run or tackle & that kind of player, is a luxury United will not accept.
Can he run? How many yards does he give away, over 40 yards to say, a 33 year old Gerrard, who's just taken the ball off him on the edge of the Liverpool box & is breaking up-field?
Can he tackle? Well, no of course he can't, not even Scoles standard, leaving a foot in. He is a luxury player in a United shirt. Last 20 min when the opposition are tiring, fantastic - take them to pieces.

Thank God we are playing football and not having a sprint, and thank god Mata is not a DM but a world class AM. Once we get a progressive manager more and more ppl will actually realise that modern football is about much much more than running and tackling.

Like how Liverpool are winning the League right now? Progressive, like Munich, last night?

United are more Madrid than Munich. I want to be entertained, not educated ;)

Or you know like Pep's Barca, or Spain, or Dortmund? Also Munich had enough success last year and not everyone in their squad is a tackler or runner. And this years Munich are still in a treble hunt. Awful awful squad I would say.

I'd say, they were lethargic, dull, boring beyond belief & with little threat. They've (Pep) has been found out, as have Barca. Munich may well be in hunt for domestic honours but in that League, I mean, not exactly competitive is it.

Power & pace is the way to kill possession play, heck, even Moyse's United showed that's the way to beat them. Athletico have undone Barca in the same way.

I don't see United fans filling Old Trafford, with United playing this so called, 'progressive' football.
