Liverpool

:p

I'm off to the match now, & to drown my sorrows afterwards.

You'll Never Walk alone Guys. Don't forget that ;)

Congratulations on your trophyless season. You deserve it.

No, we won't. If we come from seventh or sixth to second next season, we won't be particularly proud. Encouraged, maybe. You might, because you're small time, but we are United.

In all fairness we can rip Barney all we want but when you see rubbish like this posted. It's an incredible achievement for Liverpool to be where they are.

So if United fail to win the title next season on the last day, it'll be classed as an abject failure, & you won't take any encouragement from it ?

It is that mentality that seperates the biggest clubs, right? 2nd is no prize, unfortunately.

They know this is the best chance they're likely to have in a very, very long time. This is like Hull getting to the cup final next weekend. It's not something they can have a reasonable expectation of repeating again for a long while.

This is what I keep thinking too, but are we right? they've played some smashing football and have been scoring for fun this season. A scenario in which they challenge for the title again next season isn't unthinkable. I'm certainly not holding my breath anyway.

Just reread redman5's quotes above to see how clued up Utd fans are in predicting anything about Liverpool.

Wrong once every 24 years doesnt make one clueless. Do we really need to start digging up Liverpool fans predictions? It could be very embarrassing for some.

You lot will be back in your box soon enough.

Suarez is off. They need a new defence. Top 4 wont be easy next year

There is no joy in finishing second, it just means you are a little less of a looser than those behind you, but ultimately still a looser

Bollocks. You lot predict the same thing for Liverpool pretty much every season and are wrong pretty much every season so I'd say we've got more of a clue predicting things all things Liverpool than you lot.

Redman and Dumbstar just owned themselves

If they keep Suarez then of course they can challenge again.

They need to do more than just keep Suarez. Next season will be a whole new kettle of fish having to juggle the Champions League, higher expectation etc.

Having said that, I suspect they'll spend a fortune in the Summer to make sure they're competetive next season and I still fancy them for a top 4 challenge. Don't see them in the title race though. That will be either Chelsea or City.

It's not just Suarez being likely to go. They've a manager who's no experience in balancing league and CL expectations, they've got to buy quite a few players as their defence is horrific, there is also the matter of the CL itself which is a minimum of six additional games for them. Plus Steven Gerrard will be 35 at the end of next season, he'll have gone to the World Cup following his first (and perhaps only) experience of a gruelling to-the-wire title chase. The man simply isn't going to have the steam to last next year unless he's given a significant amount of time off mid-season.

1966 - Austria won Eurovision, Liverpool won the title, Atletico Madrid won league, Real won Euro Cup & England won World Cup.
:nervous:

Liverpool, Atletico and Real might do it but I'll cut off my nuts with a breadknife if England ever win the World Cup. I'll even stream it so everyone can witness.

I gotta be honest, I thin I'd take Liverpool winning the league if it meant England winning the World Cup :nervous:

They all believe they're going to win it. Don't believe a word of the 'we don't expect to win' coping mechanism. I've been speaking to a few of them today and 4 weeks ago they had all booked this weekend + Monday off from work because they were so sure of it. Even after everything that's happened they still think they're going to do it.

I can't wait for City to lift it.

They will be disappointed and they will be happy with finishing second as well. Its basic human nature.
I expect their happiness and pride to disappear once they realize that they didn't just waste a massive chance to win something, they also might not get that close again for another 24 years. Maybe they'll enjoy their second place for a couple of weeks or months, but the more time passes without picking up major silverware the more they'll start hating this memory.
Hope turns into despair...

"Make us dream."

im still disgusted that this didnt get much more abuse. you should be ashamed of yourselves

Hopefully this season breaks them and normal service resumes next season. Suarez leaving would be a bonus too.
