The ball went out after he was meant to come on and the Dutch took it quickly, the thought did cross my mind too lol
But then it went out like 30 seconds later

Sorry, meant free kick not penalty.
In reality it wasn't though was it? They hadn't learned anything from the Mexico game. You can't counter attack a team that is happy to defend deep and doesn't get drawn out by possession at the back.

Krul did well even if he is a bit of a cnut.

I will disagree. Netherlands had most of the possession and also had many shots on goal. They just couldn't convert the shot to goals.

German/Dutch final for sure. Robben is a handful and unless Messi turns up, they should go through to the final.

It was. You have a habit of making terrible posts.

But Costa Rica are a very good team and were quite lucky. Look at what happened when the other big teams played them.

Lol you're named after Bojan, good call there you obviously know a lot about football, well done.

If you think that was a great game of football then you need to watch more football.

So it was a poor game?

You are named after Manucho, so your point is? Stick to bumping the Bradley thread!

Yeah the Dutch should go gung-ho and get hit on the counter like what Costa Rica did to the other teams did. Dutch tactics were spot on and they should have finished their chances.

I'm building up to it....Don't worry :D

Clearly the division 2 comment went over the mod's head
Yeah, that was awesome. Really surprised that you didn't get banned on one of your two posts. On the first one you offended them by being a United fan (the equivalent of a CIA agent going to N.Korea and screaming that he is a CIA agent) while on the second it was that great Maine Road comment.

Yup, he is a shite poster. Always talking nonsense.

Costa Rica had 1 man in the dutch half for most of the match, do you really need 5 at the back to stop that.

It was dull as f*ck, if Louis wasn't taking over here he'd be getting criticism for stopping the Dutch playing attacking football, what's the point in having Robben, RVP and Sneijder up front if you're not going to get the ball forward to them. They only took chances towards the end of the 90 mins.

I'm hoping he won't bring that style of football here, if you don't understand that then please continue talking nonsense about Michael Bradley.

"leave off with the "bitter" comments"

Gonna be banned now in a few mins...

It's not just that he made the call but it's that Krul guessed right every single time. Clearly a well made plan rather than just an emotional decision.

Ice cool.

Yeap. You can see he was late to the shots on a couple of the penalties (which were not exactly in the corner) because he actually waited till the last moments to dive. I think they were counting on his size and reach (and the expectation that Costa Rica were not going to have the composure or ability on the occasion to put them in the corners, now that I think of it) to save the penalties as a result. It's a refreshingly very deliberate approach to penalty shootouts.

Netherland should have scored 3 or 4 times minimum. Had they scored at least once Costa Rica would have come out of their own box and would have probably conceded even more.

I'd expect them to create many chances based on the attacking talent they have, any of their attackers is prob worth more than the Costa Rica squad.

My point is the Dutch didn't play to the strengths of their forwards, they played to hide the weaknesses of their defenders. This was a valid tactic against teams like Portugal and Chile who could hurt them but Costa Rica were set out for the draw from the off.

Nonsense about Bradley? I think that is you. Dull as feck?

Also he took off a centre back at extra time and Costa Rica had their best two chances after that. I think you need to watch the game more carefully next time. There is no point going gung-ho especially against a team that has proven to be a good counter attack team.

Stopping the Dutch? Have you seen this Dutch team? Not many people gave them a chance of getting out the group. It is a poor Dutch team. He can't play attacking football with the current lot. And let's face it this new change of style might work. They started being more physical in 2010 and got to the final.

More nonsense.

Costa Rica wanted the Dutch to commit lots of players forward, so they can hit them on the break. Did you not watch their matches against Italy or Uraguay? There is no need to go so attacking early on. And when the Dutch did take a defender off, Costa Rica had their best chance.

It was extremely dull, 2 of my mates fell asleep watching the 1st half. Up there with 1st half of Netherlands v Mexico and Greece v Costa Rica for worst game of the World Cup. Just try not look at it as a United fan watching our future manager, the Dutch would have been favourites for that game with a turnip in charge.

Your two mates fell alsleep.

Cool story and thanks for sharing.

You're spending your Saturday night productively, good man. If you can't discuss football without resorting to childish nonsense then why post here?

Childish nonsense?

No that is you. You are expecting total football from this Dutch team. Which will never happen.

Underestimating Costa Rica like many other teams did and look what happened to them?

You were the only one expecting a easy Dutch victory by the looks of it. Anyone who understood football knew it would be a tough game.

You write "Cool story, thanks for sharing" in response to a post about the tactical nuances of a football match, then you accuse me of being childish?

I'm going to assume the 11 in your name was your age at the time of registration, meaning you're still a child now, explains your lack of football knowledge, do your parents know you're still awake at this time?

Tactical nuances? You were saying it's a dull game because your mates fell alsleep.

Thanks for sharing those tactical nuances.

It certainly wasn't a dull match for me ;) More credit should be given to Costa Rica's defensive line. They won many offside calls and only conceded two goals all tournament. They are not an easy side to play well against. Very well-organised and well-drilled.

I go on their forum every now and then to see what they are discussing.
They really do make me laugh. I read here a lot, and we never really direct much anger at them, but the things they come out with are just ridiculous.
It's like it's part of the TOS. Spout as much hate and anger as possible. Even the moderators get up to it. It's their forum I guess, but I would of thought they'd show a bit more class than that really

He should have brought on Huntelaar earlier tbh maybe even ahead of Lens.

Or taken off RVP for Huntelaar again as 2nd sub.

But his risk taking ability is such a refreshing change from Moyes.

If there's a single caftard who doesn't approve of LvG, I'd be very surprised.
Oh there are a few, thoroughly squirming through all this praise he's getting.

Has any other manager apart from Del Bosque won the CL and World Cup during his career (not counting playing days) ?
