£35m would be great but we haven't even started bidding yet.

If the price is established through using the press at €50m (£39m) and we might all agree that's fair, we're not going to bid that and sign him. It'll be an opening bid and work from there which is why United are clearly trying to convey that £34m is a bit steep. So once all the posturing is done and we make an official bid, it'll be as low as possible which gives both of us a middle ground to work towards.

You don't want your first bid to be what you are expecting to pay... Only to get rejected.

We have so many decent sponsor deals don't we. Hopefully our transfer spending continues and we can lower the debt further. The future is certainly bright for Manchester United.
Does anyone know the official figures of our debt?
 
Nobody knows feck all at the end of the day, the club have closed shop and rightly so after last years circus, Shaw & especially Herrera are proper Utd signing in my opinion, will take more of the same please.

You're right. They've scared us with a low valuation and now we're trying to work out if his knee's bust or if they've got two Vidals on the books. It all makes perfect sense.

Didn't that bloke Adam Crafton say on Twitter yesterday that United briefed him as regards this story?

Just read this morning we'll be earning £143M a year from the Adidas, Chevy and Aon deals, which is more than the turnover of 14 PL clubs. Amazing.

All that means is that it's still Vidal's agent or some other middle man doing the go-between job. From all accounts, Real Madrid didn't contact us about Ronaldo until they sent their 80m offer - they didn't have to, Mendes did the what ifs with us and them.

According to one story, United had requested full access to his medical records (though quite how you do that for a player you've not even put a bid in for I'm not sure!). There's some stuff in this thread form a cople of days ago saying that there are concerns he was rushed back and was playing with lots of pain-killing injections, might have made it worse etc. Don't know if htere's anything in it or not.

"As far as I know, no contact has been made between the clubs." That does not say "Vidal will not be going to mufc" does it? Because, shock horror, we are no longer briefing the press about our dealings. Ergo, Ducker knows as much as Solidstate.
 
We'll still have Aon deal when they're gone from our kits?

We won't have. That doesn't mean his agent didn't ask for a copy of his medical records on the player's behalf. After that, well he could publish the records in a Chilean newspaper if he wanted to.

Sky Sports just spoke about this on their JUST IN ticker. Said "Vidal will focus on future when he gets back to Italy, right now he is enjoying holiday with family."

Liverpool comment was way off according to Fobes, with that money we could buy.

Chelsea in 3.6 years
Liverpool in 2.6 years
City in 2.7 years

We could buy all 3 clubs during those sponsors period or the Adidas deal alone could buy Arsenal FC.

The club and the player, which makes sense. Not going to contact Juve unless we get some assurances from the player that he is open to a move. we can not have direct contact with the player without permission from the club, or else that will be tapping a player. Players have agents for this purpose.

Also, don't think Ducker was briefed by the club. A lot of it was guesswork based on rumours. Di Marzio who is spot on about Juve news has been quiet, so it does not take genius to guess that there has been no contact between the clubs.

It's actually insane. Bare in mind also that our total turnover in 2004 (our last year pre glazers) was £169m.

Now add to that figure of £143m another 40+ sponsorships, TV deals, (hopefully champions league next year at nearly £90m a season) global merchandising, gate receipts ect ect and it's mind blowing what the club will be bringing in.

Which is exactly the truth. Right now the papers are just playing the merry-go-round game of WILL HE / WONT HE. As far as we know Vidal is up for it, Juve reluctantly want to sell. LVG loves Vidal, and if we've gone as far as asking to see his records I think we will get him.

That does make sense. I hope when we do approach Juve, it goes through without any glitch.

Yep. At times it feels we're whoring ourselves to so many sponsors, well it's actually the case, but in a sense you can't really blame the club's management and marketing departments leveraging the brand like they do, especially if it benefits the sporting side of the club. And there's double aspect to it, with these marketing deals, the club is also strengthening the brand and developping it in emerging markets - which in turn could bring new contracts and sponsors. The brand management is exceptional to be honest.
 
I heard Juve were ready to sell for £40m but we tried to give them £40m + Nani and they pulled out
