Watching this makes such a start contrast to Moyes and his "hold the apron, piggy in the middle" drills

He keeps talking about how he wants to watch other coaches to see how it's done. It might be worth him taking notes of Louis van Gaal training.

For a second when the camera pans to them standing in a line the one closest to the camera, I had to double take I thought it was him!

We are doing actually fecking ball work? OMG OMG!
Amazing isn't it. I've seen those exact same exercises used by Pep at Bayern in one of their many open training sessions. They're "reactionary ballwork" if I remember the terminology. Aimed at enhancing or rather figuring out who's good with quick reactions and who are the most comfortable with it.

 fecking killing me. Olly you CHAMPION.

Not sure if it's okay to post this but:

LOUIS VAN GAAL’S first big deal at Manchester United was a £1million charity giveaway.

Van Gaal saved United thousands by not using an agent to help negotiate his £6million-a-year deal.

Instead, LVG asked the club to donate cash to his favourite charity — and pledged to match their money with a donation out of his own pocket.

Sources close to Van Gaal said: “This is typical of Louis. He is a great man and a generous man.

“He has spent years working with charity and helped raise so much money for those less fortunate.”

Former Holland boss Van Gaal, 62, officially started work at United yesterday having had just two days since leading the Dutch to third place in Brazil.

He was accompanied only by his lawyer — a close pal — when he sealed the richest deal of his career before the World Cup.

Agents are usually paid five per cent of any contract.

Van Gaal’s bumper two-year-deal is believed to be worth a total of £12m — so an agent would have got £600,000 from United.

LVG’s favourite charity is Muscles for Muscles in Holland which raises awareness for spinal muscular atrophy. He and his wife Truus are global ambassadors.

Van Gaal, who will be offically paraded in front of the media this afternoon, stunned United players with a softly, softly start to his reign at Old Trafford.

The squad were braced for a rousing speech from the ‘Iron Tulip’. Instead he had a quiet lunch in the canteen with his coaching staff — including Ryan Giggs — then went round to introduce himself to each player individually.

United’s players have today off before flying out tomorrow to begin a two-week USA tour.

Van Gaal aims to get to know his squad better during the trip before making it clear exactly what he expects from them.

Players who were involved in the knockout stages at the World Cup will not be on the tour.

That means England’s Wayne Rooney, Danny Welbeck and Luke Shaw are going — but not Robin van Persie and Belgium’s Marouane Fellaini.
From the Sun.

I was looking at that video....And apart from "Anderson arriving" one part stuck out more than most.

When the players were stretching and he was looking on with the rest of his staff, there is an air of authority, knowledge, and that demands respect. It makes Giggs look like a cone collector. And I don't mean that in any bad or offensive way towards Giggs at all.

Just, such was our dire circumstances last season, Giggs looked like a saviour and "the answer" for awhile. Now he does not.
Well to be fair to Giggs a few months ago he was still a player of course he's going to look like just among the players. This term I expect him to be respected by the players more than they respected Phil N for sure

Bit harsh on Mr McMahon. The guy's a 220lbs powerhouse.
I am referring to how I can see Mr van Gaal walking like that and he can be as cocky as that. Not sure how much LvG weight but he's not too far from 200 lbs I suppose

Hypothetical but if van Gaal goes on and wins the EPL in all three season under his contract, would you guys still want Giggs as manager in four years time or would you expect the club to offer van Gaal a new contract with say 5-10 years as manager?

Also, I'm aware that Giggs believes that he will take over the job in four years time but would you guys think he would be happy to let van Gaal remain as coach if van Gaal does go on to win the EPL and possibly the CL during his stint?

If Van Gaal is successful he should stay here until he decides to call it a day.

This is an awesome lecture I wish he was my business lecturer at uni. Maybe I would pay attention.
The guy just demands your respect and undivided attention.

What LVG will bring to the table and United in the long run is a very structured and detailed preparation/environment. Having worked for the Dutch for quite a few years, its inherent in the culture. He will put a system into place that will last a generation and which Giggs will learn and benefit from.
