Arturo Vidal

If that's the case, then LVG doesn't know what he is missing. :wenger:

Unless, of course, LvG has identified another player that he feels will fit into his requirements for the team better than Vidal would, or one that he feels he can develop into a better player.

LVG killed Kroos and I totally understand why, we needed a deep lying playmaker who can tackle and now we are working on a box to box CM.

If he kills the Vidal transfer (which IMO he will not), it would be because Vidal was using us for contract negotiation or because he feels as though Vidal may not fit/buy into whatever system he has in mind.

He had the Dutch playing out of their skin because they bought into his philosophy and tactics, I'm sure he will only seek to buy players that he feels will mould to the new system equally well.
I questioned every move the last regime made (and for good reason) but I trust in LVG.

They also didn't say "Vidal is not for sale" they said "We will not put Vidal up for sale" which is completely different. It's suggesting that they won't actively try to sell him, but would accept a bid high enough, just like anyone would.

He's available at the right price it seems. If United wnat him of course.

So after a tense 20 minute wait stuck on 8850, with this post this becomes the 5th longest transfer thread ever - see ya later, Hazard!

Another thousand to catch Herrera, and then only Snjeider, Thiago and Berbatov to go.

We go again.

Becuase people now know this is nothing more than a pipe dream.

It was a muppet frenzy on here before the Juve presser. It's dead now.

More just that everything that can been said, based on the info we have so far, has been said. 8k posts and we basically still know nothing.

As soon as the next titbit is leaked, or LVG makes some obtuse reference in the preser this place will spark back into life!

The dialogue from each side reminds me a lot of the van Persie transfer so far.

18 minutes since the last post... 2 days ago, 18 minutes and we'd have moved 3 pages.

Don't blame anyone then when you are knocked out of your senses in about 7 minutes when you will find Vidal sitting beside Van Gaal in his first press conference :wenger:

Speak for yourself. Their words boosted my hopes.

Well he said he's prepared to wait a month and see how the current players fit his system, and if they don't he'll purchase players. Surely he'll purchase players he'll know will fit his system, and not another unknown player in Vidal?

He actually said he is prepared to wait a month to see how the current players fit?
It'll take him 5 minutes to asertain that Anderson, Young and Fellaini are complete horseshit.

Yep, he said he'd want to evaluate the squad over a month period to see if they fit his system and if not he'll have to bring in new signings.

I have a feeling he is putting pressure on Juve. Playing hard ball with them and forcing them to sell or risk losing out on more of their transfer targets. We might not see major departures until next month, but we can and will sign anyone, anytime if the circumstances are right.

Judging by his comments RE: Carrick, we may see him dipping into the market sooner rather than later regardless of what he said.

Especially after he meets Fellaini...
If he's going to be so democratic about it... I wonder how the lads will talk about Ashley Young!

Yeah, I wouldn't expect any imminent departures or arrivals. Not 'til after the tour at least.

If LVG doesnt have at least Vidal or another solid CM lined up he is seriously overestimating the squad.
he should know that we at the very least still need a CM and a CB of the highest calibre.

He's overestimating himself, not the squad. This is a man who reckons he's the dogs bollocks!

Watch the media go with a "United step up Vidal chase in the wake of Carrick injury" headline tomorrow morning.
