Full thing can't be posted, Damien did a summary in the twitter thread:

Can't post full article to avoid legal problems, but here's summary of everything in it:
  • Alan Keegan (Old Trafford announcer), at an event for watch partner Bulova in Hollywood accidentally said we won the Uefa Cup when listing our honours. One official shook his head and whispered 'no' when it happened.
  • Relaxed mood in the camp, sense of excitement. Female member of staff showed off red nail polish.
  • Silvestre believes City will never rival United for support: “They might win trophies here and there but they won’t gain support. “I have been travelling a lot for United in the last six months. I have been to Asia, and the support there is unbelievable and honestly City is nowhere near that. The way they do their business, it’s ... it doesn’t get people to support them. They just buy trophies. When you grow players and when you give them a chance and you stick by them when they make mistakes, that shows courage and that is what United is all about.”
  • Woodward returned home last night though it was longer in the planning. "General business" was given as reason though fans will be hoping it is signing related.
  • van Gaal and coaches been working players hard with plenty of double training sessions though they've been given time off this morning.

its the confidence of the man that I find inspiring and interesting. Coming straight in, seeing Carrington, asking for two pitches, asking for something to block the wind. Bulldozers in the next day....all players are starting all over again, need to prove themselves....experienced or not.

I just get the feeling players love that sort of confidence, that sort of leadership, makes them feel more secure, have more belief. Of course, the proof is in the results and I don't expect us to suddenly be blindingly amazing - but it does make one feel pretty optimistic about the future. Cantona alledgedly mentioned (or perhaps it was Fergie) that it wasn't the case of whether Cantona was big enough for Old Trafford, more whether Old Trafford was big enough for Cantona. Have a similar feeling about Van Gaal.

Ah well...we'll see...

There will definitely be a river for his press conference? Pondering whether I should stay up to watch it

To think how different it all could've been had Fergie not u-turned and van Gaal came in 2002.
That would have meant we became mid table for a few years and then climbing steadily back ..... I really think some United fans are spoilt, so spoilt to the extent that they think any manager who is a bit famous would carry on giving us glory. If it is easy, everyone would be doing it! But there is only one Sir Alex and his U-turn ensured us more trophies, thank god!

You're like an infinite source of information ha, thanks Adnan. Will it be on MUTV? If so, I should be able to find a stream?
If it's on MUTV i'll PM you a river mate but i'm not sure if it will be on MUTV.

I'm not sure it is on MUTV, trying to figure out if it'll be available to stream anywhere at the moment.

That's great stuff. Really promising for us United fans. Oh and the way he talks about Strootman, he really loves the guy

It shows just how important the midfield balance is for him and it's mostly brought by players like Strootman and De Jong. His criteria for judging players is good news as well.
