So he wants young signings instead of experienced ones, yet we are after vermaelen.

Absolutely agree with Van Gaal ,these tours do nothing to prepare the squad for the upcoming season. Not even sure it as any effect on football in America,

Watching MUTV on tour and I get the distinct impression that we won't sign anyone at least until after the Real Madrid game. He's adamant that he wants to give the existing players a chance. He's a man of his word and that means he won't sign anybody which might damage the confidence of prospected players already within the club. Respect for the man, he's not going to buy willy-nilly.

Remember moyes saying we need 5 world class signings to be challenging. fecking hell what change!

That video of Jones' goal, seriously, I'm still confused about VG's reaction. He was happy and clapping but then he went at Jones like he wanted to beat the shit out of him

This guy's a mad man and I absolutely love it.

LVG is such an eccentric character, players are half confused what coming at them. You just know, he will be amazing for the youngsters.

I don't think most people realise the difference the training will make to our overall performances. We will actually use the football under Van Gaal and hopefully be able to translate what is practiced on the training field on to the pitch. No longer are our lads being coached by Moyes, Round and Jimmy fecking Lumsden. Honestly, people worry about who we will or won't sign, but the reality behind our hideous season last year was the fundamental problems with the coaching staff and their lack of ideas and imagination.

Love that video

They probably think he is nuts but will also be scared of him

I think Rooney will do really well under LVG

Quite right, I think most managers would like a few weeks with the squad in one place, maybe those camps in a secluded place, and just go on tour for the final two weeks of the tour.
I think it's great that he is looking to give a fair crack first before bringing in more signings, after all it's these players that were winning titles and losing them by the slightest of margins. Maybe he can salvage something from players like Nani,Valencia, Fletcher etc. You never know.

Yep, and Van Gaal is the exact opposite of confused, he knows what he wants and shows it. Soon the players will know too. The problem with Moyes was the players were confused and Moyes himself was too, he didn't know what he wants. Van Gaal has a clear vision.

Glad I'm not the only one who thinks that way.

I think will Rooney will have one of his best seasons at United under van Gaal.

Agreed. It must be very hard going from Ferguson, who gave off an aura of knowing exactly what he wanted, to Moyes, who looked like he had no idea what he wanted. The players are clearly more comfortable with a guy like Van Gaal who, like Fergie, says its my way or the highway and also likes to attack. Moyes was always more comfortable trying to make it hard for other teams, the players didn't like that, Moyes knew it, and he found himself caught between doing what came natural to him (defend) and trying to do what United players and fans expect (attack).

He's already brilliant and I'm basing this on nothing but a couple of vines.

Van Gaal promising to give everybody in the squad a chance to impress him is probably the right thing to do but it is a little frustrating when we know there are some of those players who don't deserve another chance and should be sold.

Yeah ''ideas and imagination'', especially in the forward phase. I was shocked by how our defence (a supposed strong suit of his) was all over the place. The improvements LVG could bring to our play could be worth another ten points or so, whether that would be enough I don't know with the improves Arsenal have made and you'd expect Spurs under Pochettino to get it right . We definitely must get it right on the recruitment front and I am not talking about earth shattering moves either, just the right players to strengthen our defence and midfield.

Agreed. As much as I would LOVE to see Vidal etc here, it's easy to forget we've already done our best business with the appointment of Louis & his team.

For all the praise and talk of potential with Smalling and particularly Jones, LvG really could be the making of them and other young players.

Yep. I dread to think what another season of Moyes would have been like. Fair play to Woodward and the board for making the cut. It must not have been easy, especially with our reputation of giving managers a fair chance, but it HAD to be done. LVG is quite clearly a much better coach and the season has not even started yet.

RvP was the first name down in my fantasy footy team but starting to think Rooney might be the better option...
