He also admitted the decision to join United was "not an instant yes".
Forgot Blackett.Nice interview there. They were talking about the loss of experience and how he'll approach managing a young side so I got interested and decided to find out Man Utds average age since so many old players left (don't know where else to put this). Worked out that it's 24.1 which is pretty damn young!
Used these players:
Amos: 24
Johnstone: 21
Lindegaard: 30
De Gea: 23
Evans: 26
Jones: 22
M Keane: 21
Rafael: 24
Shaw: 19
Smalling: 24
Varela: 21
Vermijl: 22
Anderson: 26
Carrick: 33
Cleverley: 24
Fellaini: 26
Fletcher: 30
Herrera: 24
Januzaj: 19
Kagawa: 25
Lingard: 21
Mata: 26
Nani: 27
Powell: 20
Valencia: 28
Young: 29
Zaha: 21
Henriquez: 20
Hernandez: 26
W Keane: 21
Lawrence: 20

The 442 with fast wingers?
Yeah, I get that. I understand that completely....But you've seen the Giggsy documentary yes?
Giggs, P Nev, Scholes, Butt, all in a room discussing tactics....Clueless!!
"I like Valenica's pace"
And these were/are expected to carry on the "United way".....It makes me wonder what went on half the time

Christ, give him a chance. He's hardly been 'lacklustre.'Regarding his lacklustre performances off late I'm sure. Reece James has been terrific.
Yep but you can vet your arse they will beat it out of him if they have to. If he thought he could come to the prem and simply continue as Bessie mates with all the managers he's in for a shock and I'm sure he'll find his feet on the merry go round. He'll definitely be at other managers throats by the time he's heard someone slagging his team off for the 5th week in a row.
He'll get a rises out of the kind of managers who jobs will be on the line. Koemann is a disaster waiting to happen. They already reportedly don't like each other and all it would take is a snide comment from him.
Of course history shows that you'd have to be insane to take LVG on with words. It will be interesting to know what he says about another Howard Webb bottle job or a Martin Atkinson mystery penalty.
And James.Forgot Blackett.
Chill out. I've been saying good things about him in this forum over the last two games. He's looked a bit off the pace too though imo. Could be down to fitness.Christ, give him a chance. He's hardly been 'lacklustre.'
Dude, LVG has never started shit with anyone, ever. He is not a douche. He is only interested in building teams from the ground and discovering new gems.
Brilliant. Notice anything particular at training, say, were they split into groups, maybe hints on who could be starting the game?
This. Everyone that thinks that Giggs should take over the reins in 3 years has absolutely no clue.
Giggsy was a great player, but he's got to earn his badges elsewhere

I can't post the names here unfortunately, would violate the forum rules...Does he give them names?
At Bayern he was calling the players Xavi, Iniesta...![]()
Team was split into two units. As best I could tell, Mata, Rooney, Herrera, Jones and Evans were with the first unit. Kagawa, Nani and Young with the second unit.
Most noticeable was the time spent on one-touch drills. A lot of pass and move at pace.
LVG was very vocal throughout. Rooney looked very fast-was very impressive.
Don't think he knows where to play Nani. He wouldn't do very well in a wing back role which is probably why Van Gaal tried him in a CF type position. So Van Gaal mentioned Young as possibly playing Wing back too. While he mentioned Rooney, Welbeck, van Persie, Keane, Zaha, Hernandez as possible strikers in this. No mention of Nani.
I just had so much fun imagining Van Gaal chasing Anderson around a running track shouting 'fatty boom boom!' over and over at the top of his voice and cackling wildly.
Don't tell me you can't imagine it!
