Bring on the hardest draw possible! I want Barcelona, Dortmund and Roma.
You'd probably get about 5 points in this group.

Thanks! Amazing how Atletico are already 1st seeds and City with all the money spent still 2nd.Kinda torn between a group of great teams and a group with the easiest route possible. Just happy to be in it again to be honest, I'll take anyone.
@united_99, yeah third seeds as Barney said. Full seeds are:

Anyway, can't say good luck to you guys, but enjoy. Fully deserved based on last season's performances.
I think it's silly to want great teams in the group stage, the games are often quite boring. It's often in the knock out stages that the games get really exciting, I think it's better to get out of the group and then have prestigious games!Kinda torn between a group of great teams and a group with the easiest route possible. Dortmund's groups in the last two years were excellent entertainment.I think it's silly to want great teams in the group stage, the games are often quite boring. Probably true actually, you've convinced me![]()
ctp makes a point though, there's always the odd group with exciting games. But I still feel the real excitement comes in the knock outs, with some real nail biting games.Dortmund's groups in the last two years were excellent entertainment.
Well that and the CL run last season surely?Europa League performances.
Well that and the CL run last season surely?
And City were also in the EL in 2011/12 but apparently didn't take it seriously.
Yeah both. CL runner up and 2 Europa League trophies since 2009/10 (though I'm not 100% sure if that first EL win is still considered). Shows the value of the Europa League though, it's probably why the two Portuguese sides are also 1st seeds.
Yep. Benfica reached two finals in a row, and also has a semi-final from 2010/11 counting. Porto has 2010/11 victory and a few extra points holding us there. Unless Porto does amazing this year we'll lose 1st seed next year (I think it's our 3rd or 4th year in a row there), Benfica should stay there for quite a while.Yeah both. It's about the only thing UEFA can do to keep the competition prestigious, hence it "pays" in points nearly as much as the CL.
Yep, they're a very good side who gave it max. We won't have a harder test in the group stage (and didn't need 4 tough games in 2 weeks while everybody else as had 2 and players are coming back from the World Cup)Besiktas as played very well.
Group of death:-
Real Madrid
Juventus
Liverpool
Monaco

Agree. Bayern or Barca instead of Real can work as well.Roma over Monaco for sure. Then probably PSG instead of Juve.
Is this a screen grab from TV or just something someone made for the net? That "O" in front of Porto really bugs me.Kinda torn between a group of great teams and a group with the easiest route possible. Just happy to be in it again to be honest, I'll take anyone.

I fecking hate that Anglicism. It would be like reading "Themanchester" or "Lamadrid" when referring to those cities. Is this a screen grab from TV or just something someone made for the net? That "O" in front of Porto really bugs me.
Is it on purpose? I thought it was a typo.I fecking hate that Anglicism. It would be like reading "Themanchester" or "Lamadrid" when referring to those cities.
You don't get zero points for not playing in Europe. About 10k will do it which a drop of about 3-4 places probably.Looking at this table United are going to drop like a rock down the rankings next year from losing the 36k points and getting none in return, that's if we even make it in which is far from a given of course.
I'm still happy we aren't in the EL.....so players like Anderson, Fellaini, Cleverley, Fletcher and and and can leave usYou don't get zero points for not playing in Europe. About 10k will do it which a drop of about 3-4 places probably.
No Europa league sure looks swell now, doesn't it?

Always find it mental how people hope for tough draws. Don't know whether it's posturing but not wanting to maximise your chances of progressing in the competition I can't comprehend.
Real Madrid/Barcelona, Juventus, Liverpool, Monaco.Just done a mock draw (which I hope followed all of the right rules) and ended up with this:
Group A: Atletico Madrid, Zenit Saint Petersburg, Olympiacos, APOEL
Group B: Benfica, Manchester City, Atheltic Bilbao, Anderlecht
Group C: Porto, Juventus, Bayer Leverkusen, Monaco
Group D: Chelsea, Borussia Dortmund, Galatasaray, Maribor
Group E: Arsenal, Schalke 04, Sporting CP, Ludogorets Razgrad
Group F: Real Madrid, Shakthar Donetsk, Ajax, Malmo FF
Group G: Bayern Munich, PSG, Liverpool, BATE Borisov
Group H: Barcelona, Basel, CSKA Moscow, AS Roma
I'd laugh my head off if Liverpool actually got a group like that.
We'll still have 36 points next season though because they count 5 previous seasons. The list above will be for next year although some teams will gain points so we might not be in pot 1.Looking at this table United are going to drop like a rock down the rankings next year from losing the 36k points and getting none in return, that's if we even make it in which is far from a given of course.
What time is the draw?
The 'show' starts at 16:45. Who knows when the actual draw starts, after all we have to hear endless stupid speaches, watch a few highlight films and then there's also the UEFA player of the year award with the vote and the presentation of the winner.
