Pep Guardiola's Bayern

We just used the Bundesliga thread to moan and cry and blame and hang our heads in shame.

I thought this thread here is just for some users to drop by occasionally, tell us that everything was so much better with Heynckes in charge, so that we can start defending Pep again. Surprisingly no one did that yesterday.
LOL

I'll hastily make my way to the BL thread then.......

The worst Wiesn evening is always the one organised through work. I've no idea why, but it never ends well. The evenings with friends are way more civilised.

I throughly enjoyed my time at the Gillamoos and Gaubodenfest, I can live without another Wiesn visit for the rest of my life. Alternatively the Bergkerwa in Erlangen is also a joy.

By the way, how good has Juan Bernat been? I recall a user here on the caf who insisted that the Spaniard is at best an average talent without much potential, but he's been getting better and better over the last couple of weeks.

What a find at € 10M in this kind of market, wow!

I liked him a lot at Valencia but didn't expect him to start much in his first season. I was disappointed United weren't in for him but nevermind, we got Shaw who's gonna be 3 times better at least.

I hasnt impressed me yet. He is very fast and has decent ball control, but his decision making is pretty bad, which makes him inefficient. Often he just looks at the ball and runs until he loses it. Mind that he needs more time to settle in, so its not really fair to judge him at the moment.

Haven't seen much of Bayern this season but said at the time that it was a bargain. Didn't expect him to play so much already but he's a great player, if Liverpool hadn't got Alberto Moreno I'd have been annoyed at us not competing for Bernat at that price.

We will see.... ;) 3 times better then a cleary good player(great against City!)is impossible so. I hope you know that :D

The Red machine slowly stops misfiring and starts to get going. Paderborn and cologne came at the right time.

They still misfire. Müller and Lewandowski have enough chances but misfire a lot - that will change...

What's more interesting right now is the formations Pep puts onto the pitch. Yesterday Neuer, 1 central defender, 4 fullbacks, one winger, 2 strikers, 1 defensive and one offensive midfielder...

Or that Bayern played as much long balls as Dortmund until now this season (+ countless short passes).

According to several confirmed media reports, Bayern München ended the 2013/2014 financial year with a record-breaking turnover of € 528M which is a 22% increase compared to the previous year. It's also the first time a German football club has reached the half-billion mark. The adjusted turnover without transfer fees is still at € 488M and the profit after tax showed a solid 10% increase to € 16.5M. One of the driving forces behind this impressive result is the club's strong Merchandising which accounted for € 105M of the total turnover, 1.2M FC Bayern jerseys were sold. Furthermore the club has now officially paid off all the remaining debt for the Allianz Arena, which according to our CFO should add approximately another € 15M to the annual budget of the squad. That's at least the salary of one world-class player right there.

I'm really interested to see what our profits as well as the additional funds will be used for in the future. Perhaps we can even expect some exciting transfers.

You're talking to a forum who's team has an official paint partner.

We win.

Up Kensai Paint!!

If all we have to complain about, is that Manchester United is still slightly ahead of us thanks to the bigger global exposure of the EPL, then I'm a very happy FC Bayern München club member. :D

Thiago today... Cannot wait to see him back on the pitch...

Great to see him nearing a return. Hopefully this is the end of his injury problems!

Big boost for Spain too, he'd be a guaranteed starter if he was fully fit and should be the team's next leader.

So yeah...not the end of his injury problems.

Unbelievable, he's had another setback and now needs another operation so he's out for months again. Poor guy.

Was he this injury prone at Barcelona?

Not this bad but he seemed to miss a few months of every season with an injury. His brother (Rafinha) keeps picking up injuries too, though not to the same extent as Thiago.

:( holy shit! I was so excited so see him play for us soon again.

Wow, sort of glad Moyes didn't end up signing him. Such a shame that he's so injury prone because he's such a talented player.

What was the story with the dispute being Guardiola and one of Bayern's fitness coaches, by the way? Is this likely to flare up again or is it just pure bad luck?

He's brilliant, but can you imagine how gutting it'd of be if he was our player and he kept getting injured like this?

Thiago's injury problems are Guardiola's fault and from the club officials!!!!!! He has send Thiago to spanish doctors after his first injury and Müller-Wolfahrt was totally against it!!!
And Bayern Munich (Sammer & Co.) have allowed this. Guardiola has too much power in Munich.

Cheers, forgot about that sending him to Spain thing.

Why did he send him to Barcelona in the first place though, there must have been a reason? I'll just have to take your word for it that it's Pep's fault because I don't have enough knowledge to say otherwise but why are Bayern picking up so many injuries - Thiago, Schweinsteiger and Javi Martínez especially.
