Madden 15

It's the best Madden that I've played by far - and except for last year I have been playing them each year since the Megadrive days. So would recommend it without any hesitation.
See I'd definitely go and get it if PS4 games weren't so fecking expensive, can't real a game on a whim, would have to be absolutely certain that I'd spend quite a few hours out of it.

Got this, drills are great, I can't read a defence for shit but the drills really help.

Any improvement on the be a pro and franchise mode. They seem to have got continually worse every year. Very tempted to get this but not if it's a rehash of Madden 25.

First Madden I'm afraid so I'm probably not the best person to ask :D.

What is the Be a Pro equivalent in Madden? Is it any good? I don't really have much of a grasp on how real life NFL works when it comes to trades and stuff like that. Do you start with a team and just stick with them? Not many people are interested in Be a Pro in FIFA but I play it a lot and I think it could be similar with Madden.

Their equivalent is Connected Franchise mode. You can choose to play this as a GM, Head Coach or a single Player. The 'typical' mode would be Head Coach - you can decide how much of the off-field activities you get involved in (either all of them, or you can delegate them all), then you play the games and control the offense and defense. You can also sim games in all modes, if you choose.

If you play as a single player, then you only control your player on the plays that they are in the game (the rest of the plays you can sim).

For both the Head Coach and Player modes, you can create your own player/coach, play with a current player/coach, or one of the legend players or coaches. If you choose a legend then you start off as a Rookie (with stats to reflect this) and then get drafted by a team.

Still enjoying this so much so that I've ordered the guide from Prima. I watch the Twitch channel of MaddenTips who work on the guide and they're great. Hopefully I can work on my defence and also work
on reading defence.

But yeah it, its so much better than Madden 25.

Just saw the GIF generator that EA created:

So I went ahead and bought it, best madden for a good few years. Gameplay is much improved, especially on defence and Ultimate team is impressive. Offence is more of a challenge, harder to make breaks with running backs and receivers. Also find it quite difficult to go long and throw over the top of the CB's unless it's against cover 2 D. Presentation wise it's good and it runs well on the PS4. The pre-game and in game presentation could be better i.e similar to the college football games.

On the 'connected franchise' mode, it's not much different to last years game really, I do like the coach and owner modes though. However, I wish they would make a dedicated be a pro mode similar to what it was in 07/08 games. The radio show they had would be a welcome addition to the twitter feed. A proper be a pro mode has great potential, it needs to be invested in and made deeper. At the moment it just feels stale. Overall a good game though. 8/10.

Bought it and love it. Only problem is, playing as say Pats, is there a way to make Revis follow the opponents number 1 receiver or receiver of my choosing? Couple of times he's been following some random slot receiver whilst AJ Green has been destroying me

I don't think so. A match-up setting and formation subs are two huge features still missing from Madden.

I might finally have defense figured out though. Double Eagle really shuts the run down and overload blitzes make the quarterback make quick decisions. Nothing better, though, then running zone after zone at a defense and finally get the D moving laterally so you can cut back into a massive hole and find paydirt.

I thought these were in there - they certainly used to be a couple of years ago where you could arrange the depth chart based on formations - am almost certain I am not making that up!! I haven't tried it in 15, but surprising it something like that got removed.

You can make formation subs in-game but you can't outside of the game. It's annoying and ridiculous because it was in NCAA '14 (?).

I've just brought this as it's now down to 29.99 on PSN store which is pretty awesome.

Will be up for giving you a whopping over the weekend if you fancy a game @Eboue or anybody else.

Will be up for a game - should be able to fit it in over the weekend, but if not then will find a time soon.

Which team do you play as?

Only had one game so far while waiting for the long ass installation that only let's you play as the Seahawks or Panthers. Will likely stick with the Steelers as per usual.

I might be a bit shit at first so go easy on me

Lack of formation subs is really annoying me now. It's still better than any other Madden, well, it would be if it weren't for the fact that QB's in Connected Careers mode seem incapable of recognising pressure or getting rid of the ball. Always seem to run at the exact same angle into the sack. Might happen in other modes as well but I only play CC

I just got this the other week. Is there a Redcafe connected franchise?

Good game.

Only the second proper game I've played, I need quite a bit of practice. You're running with QB's, stripping the ball, Lynch running through players and needing ten on him to go down and all sorts, I'm way behind man. Play another tomorrow if you're around as I got a few things to do now.

Over the weekend mate, about to sit down and watch a movie in bed.

Haven't even had a chance to fire this up since you last beat me.

Will try this weekend - although GTA is back taking up most of the time I get to play.
