hides then pops up cock in hand whenever he scores![]()
Funny thing is that media were talking a lot about goal-scoring drought when he failed to score for 3 matches!
I think that speaks a lot about his consistency and quality.
No he wasn't. He hit the post, forced a good save from the keeper, scored a great header, played a nice pass to Bale to put him through on goal which Bale then fecked up and it was his cross that led to mistake which resulted in Madrid's first goal (which was extremely important as Elche were defending very well for the most part and were hard to break down). He was decisive, had a good game and did his job. He was certainly not poor.I'd say the reason they were talking was just as much about his poor performances over the past 2 months or so, even in games he's scored in. Poor again last night yet he got a goal so people who didn't watch would probably assume he played well.
Needs to seriously cut down on the diving too, it's getting back to a pathetic level again.

I completely disagree. He missed two clear cut chances and I think you're being generous if you give him credit for the cross that Benzema scored from given it was cut out by the defender only for the keeper to get in the way.
Was the forced save the time the keeper made a theatrical save? That was noting special.
Good goal and good shot that hit the post but that's not enough over 90 minutes given the amount of shots he squandered.
In the spanish newspapers grades he was just behind Isco in his evaluation. Wasn't his best but to call it poor just comes from your usual biased opinion.
Hardly biased, I give him credit when he plays well, I just don't subscribe to the common view (rightly or wrongly) that a goal elevates a player's performance to a higher level.
I think saying he scored a great goal in an otherwise poor performance is a fair summary. If you disagree that's up to you.
Please, you are clearly biased in what concerns evaluating Ronaldo's performance. I just have to read your posting historial. Nothing wrong with that but you are not impartial. For instance you are always ready to discriminate everything Ronaldo does badly in a game but i don't see you doing the same with other players of your preference. Very rarely i've seen you giving credit.
And he didn't just score a great goal, he did more than that like Raul Madrid mentioned. I don't think your assessment is fair at all but it's your opinion. Apparently mine, Raul Madrid and the spanish pundits is different. But to each his own.
I do pick apart Cristiano's performances more than with other players, that's true. It's not because of bias though, it's because it's Cristiano's performances that people praise too much more than other players.
Isco was Madrid's best player on the night and the defence was great too but Ronaldo did his job and was very important. I judge players like Ronaldo different to how I judge Isco. It is not Ronaldo's job to constantly get involved in the game. He is a forward. It is his job to make things happen in the final third be it from a goal, shot, pass, assist, cross, dribble, by any means necessary even if it isn't pretty. Yesterday was the type of game where there was not much happening and the team was under immense pressure to take advantage of Barcelona's slip up. Elche defended deep and in numbers (and did it very well), leaving very little space and what was badly needed was a breakthrough and it was Ronaldo who was involved in both goals (even if the first came from a mistake). It is not easy for forwards to play well in such games due to the lack of space and because midfielders are harried and forced to rush their passes to the forwards and don't give the ball to them in the dangerous areas they would like. Even Messi who is having a brilliant season and who is playing at a level above everyone right now has struggled in such games (for example Almeria away, Madrid away and Valencia away but like Ronaldo last night he still made the difference in that one which is his job)I completely disagree. He missed two clear cut chances and I think you're being generous if you give him credit for the cross that Benzema scored from given it was cut out by the defender only for the keeper to get in the way.

That's one way of looking at it. To me it looked like Ronaldo had just slightly overhit the passNo he wasn't. No, you don't Bob. You, Marcos and Snake are always looking for negative things when it comes to Ronaldo. I'm sorry, but it's there for everyone to see. He's no angel like the boys at Barca but to keep beating the same drum is a bit tiring after a while. Funny thing is that it's the same posters who make fun of Cal for the same thing.Hardly biased, I give him credit when he plays well, I just don't subscribe to the common view (rightly or wrongly) that a goal elevates a player's performance to a higher level.

Not saying he played a great game yesterday btw, but saying he played shit is further from the truth. He contributed to our win without being MOTM like we've been getting used to over the last few seasons. It is clear he is steadily improving and soon everything will be back to normal; he will put in great performances and the haters will have to go looking for other things than his football to discredit him with.
Objectivity.

Very fair post. These are the guys who then moan about fanbois and agenda posters.
Ronaldo > Messi lol

Messi is the better player overall, most people with eyes can see that.
in fact, in this very same thread, when la liga authorities suspended ronaldo for two games i posted that it was a lenient punishment but that i rather watch him play than not
i told you that IMO he is one of the best 10 players of all time
i only think that he is not on the same level as messi
your dad has a little smelly goblin in his pantsMessi is the better player overall, most people with eyes can see that.
But he's still a smelly little goblin.
i hope you know that i was kiddingThese threads really bring out the best in Marcos.
No, I thought you were completely serious. My feelings were hurt tbh.i hope you know that i was kidding

ok, lately everyone seems so sensitive
my tits hurt
I don't think it's hard to find negatives, and obviously some of us over emphasize it to counter the wankathon that usually ensues when he plays poorly but sticks away a tap in or a penalty, I'm sure some of it is also a wind up to Cal? given some of the complete nonsense he posts.
I at least pride myself on my honesty, I never hide the fact I dislike Ronaldo, and I can still admit just how damn good he is.
