And some United fans said they wouldn't have him back here because of his ego and attitude.

Who the hell cares, he will continue to score 20+ guaranteed goals for the next few seasons. If there's even a sniff of him wanting to come back then we should be all over it. I think he will end his career at madrid though.

Nope, he will end his career in the states. I'm pretty sure of that.

im not sure, he's earned so much money already he doesn't really need a last big payday. Thing with Ronaldo is he looks after himself so well he could probably play until he's 40 so it all depends on how much he wants to play football in his latter years. That said he does have L.A written all over him.

Imagine the hype if he does end up in the MLS though it'll be bigger than beckham and Henry.

I'm not sure if he's earn more money in the US than he does in Madrid. I just see him fitting in quite well in LA with all the glitter and glamour like CM said above.

If the opposition he plays against is as bad as Granada were today every week, why not.

Even without the opposition being that poor he could do it with 40 goals a season for the next 5 years which is within the realms of possibility. Also factor in if his scoring slows he may play longer

I think he will leave Madrid after 3 years.

I don't know how anyone can make a prediction regarding whether Ronaldo will retire at Madrid or not with any conviction due to the nature of the club and the player ("you never know", "only god knows" "I am not happy" etc). I am sure that his desire to stay at the club changes every so often depending on how certain things are going at any given moment and I am sure it is the same with the higher-ups at the club. They will be monitoring his form and if at some stage they think that he is beginning to decline and his performances are dropping and believe at that moment they could still get a very good price for him then I am sure they would consider it.

this has been argued a thousand times

if the oposition is that bad, why isnt every player scoring 2,3,4 or 5 goals every now and then?

or why is it that ronaldo is the top scorer in the CL?

To be fair you can make a point about a team being poor without making an in depth analysis of the quality of the league.
Granada today would have been poor in any top league across Europe.

I was actually trying to point out how terrible Granada were rather than downplay Ronaldo's performance, but now that you mention it, these type of games happen every once in a while. For example:

- Berbatov vs Blackburn a few years ago.
- Messi vs Leverkusen
- Luiz Adriano in the CL this season.
- Falcao vs Deportivo IIRC
- Shearer vs Sheffield Wednesday back in 1999
- Defoe vs Wigan

It's an amazing achievement, but if you allow your opponent to score that many against you, you know it's been a horrendous performance from your team. Otherwise, these games would happen more often, but they don't. IIRC, this is the first time Ronaldo scores 5 in a single game. Messi hasn't done it since either.

Holy fecking shit lads!! What a day to be busy with a family visit  I'll check in tonight!

What is this Cristiano celebration all about?

Tbh, no matter the opponent, you can only applaud such a big individual performance. He is a machine, he never loses faith even if he is on a "bad" run.

For me the highlight was him putting in that diving header, when he had already scored three, and Madrid were 6 or 7 up in the game. He hurt himself in the process but that's just an example of how much effort he puts in.

I've personally not heard anyone who wouldn't want him back. The man was pure electricity on a football pitch for us, and worked his guts out and still does every game he plays. Ego? Yeah he's got one. It's why he's such a great player - because he trusts his ability. Attitude? I think his attitude is top class.

It was on another thread a couple of months back. Do you remember when bale and Ronaldo had a fallout I wrote Id still prefer ronaldo back at United over bale if we had a choice of the 2 but quite a few seemed to want bale over him.

I'm not bothered about his ego and attitude when your as good as him it's deserved.

They do exist.

It really is amazing how such a famous goalscorer is able to find so much space. Some of it can be put down to poor defending, but you have to give him lots of credit for constantly being able to find gaps in a crowded box.
That's what I've always found so amazing with Ronaldo. Everyone talks about his speed, his heading, his finishing, his skills, etc. But it is his positioning in attacking areas which is even more incredible. Easily the best I have ever seen.

Anyone else getting tired of Messi and Ronaldo?

I know what you mean actually. Every week they seem to get a hatrick each.

Such a great league where the top 2 sell their tv rights individually for monumental money, and the rest have to do with crumbs. Has zero interest as a league really.

Imagine if United could do the same in terms of rights!! My word, as if our income doesn't already dwarf the other Premier league teams

bit tired of Ronnie to be honest, give me the ball and hail me when I score. Messi seems to be having fun again, he just takes the piss
