This could go on for a while yet with the manager issue at RM, just hope Cech is still available when it does get sorted out.

Only if De Gea is biding his time, waiting to see how it goes. Lots of players are signed to clubs without managers.
Surely there aren't folk who are still optimistic about this? Fair fecks to you, but I'm sure a few were the same as me and gave up a good month ago or two or so.
There is absolutely nothing apart to suggest that De Gea will stay. Apart from the odd "hope" from Van Gaal that he'll stay.
Even that and the "he won't leave easily" line just seems like feeble attempts to get a better price of him.Surely there aren't folk who are still optimistic about this? Fair fecks to you, but I'm sure a few were the same as me and gave up a good month ago or two or so.

When has a lack of manager ever been a problem for Real in terms of buying players? He may very well stay silent until Real actually put in a bid, wouldn't expect him to go public about wanting to leave unless/until he has to. Once their manager situation is dealt with, I'm sure we'll get our answer.
That is exactly the thing. I would love nothing more than to DDG sign the contract, but we cannot let this drag on until we don't know something. Maybe the club want to sign a GK before letting go of DDG and thus have been mum on this. Whatever be the case, I hope we get our business done quickly and that would include letting DDG go if he wants to.I know the season has just ended but for me this is taking too long, all we've heard is that DDG has to make the decision so surely if he wants to move then all he has to do is simply say so.
I'm sure the transfer fee shouldn't be a big issue, what would annoy me is if they tried to offload their crap like Contraeo as part of the deal.
true but it's save for player to go to club when the manager wants him, currently there is no manager there, so it's a slight risk, don't you think? And imagine they hired Brentan..When has a lack of manager ever been a problem for Real in terms of buying players?
We should put a deadline for his decision. What if he decides in mid-august that he wants to leave and fecks us over big time?
He should at least have the decency to sort this early so we can get a replacement and bring him up to speed during preseason.
Yes, I am aware it is the Mirror, but..
David De Gea's move to Real Madrid is done, claims Bernabeu keeper Iker Casillas
Iker Casillas has hinted that David de Gea's move to Real Madrid is a done deal and claims he is relishing competing against him.
De Gea has still to publicly announce if he will stay at Manchester United or return to his native Madrid to sign for Real.
Casillas believes he will soon be his team-mate at the Bernabeu and claims his experience at Old Trafford will help him adapt.
The Real goalkeeping legend believes De Gea has the potential to succeed him as No 1.
"I'm delighted with the competition," he told Spanish TV. "My contract does not say you have to start.
"I would like to finish my career here.
"De Gea is a really nice boy and a goalkeeper for the present and future. He'll be well received and helped.
"We'll compete. He can handle the pressure and will be served from his experience at United."
How true this/the quotes are I have no idea, just posting the stories as I see em...
I think that he is genuinely torn between staying with us and going to Madrid, hence the no news form him on the whole thing. He's obviously loved here, and I think that he genuinely loves playing for us and appreciates the support he gets. But Madrid is a huge pull for him, and its a huge decision for him to make. I reckon its still 50/50.
He is most likely to be going to visit his family or edurne family. What do we make of the latest pics of DDG in Madrid?

Given their love of the dramatic, I think they'll present a new manager first before any new signings. Perez gets max publicity and the new manager gets to present the new players as his own. When has a lack of manager ever been a problem for Real in terms of buying players?

Plenty of our own fans don't like Mourinho and found him hard to root for during his Real years, though admittedly that dislike won't ever be on the scale of Benitez. But I do think it's a good thing to have that animosity - we *should* be viewing Real and the like as rivals if we want to get back to the top, anything less is smalltime. If that's the case, can you imagine our fan's reaction if DdG is unveiled as a Benitez signing...?
Benitez being the manager suddenly draws into much sharper focus that Real are a rival - not some exotic, far away 'idea', but a rival that we really wanna stop cheering on (via Ronaldo) and view them as we view a club like, say, Chelsea.
Difference being Chelsea haven't taken our last two World Class players...

Let Liverpool fans adopt Real as their vicarious CL club now that Rafa's at the helm, knowing that a couple of United rejects are scoring and stopping the goals![]()
How did we even let it get to this situation? Weren't we supposed to try to get him and extension before last summer?
It hasn't, but, who in their right minds would want to play for Benitez. Guy's a joker...When has a lack of manager ever been a problem for Real in terms of buying players?
It's just a poll on a message board, not the election. Come on.I still didnt vote, thinking about "yes",guess by now "No" has a lead.
