Bundesliga 2015/2016

The fact that Pep got comprehensively outcoached in some of these matchups can't be neglected.

Without having watched too many of them, was he really outcoached or did he simply experiment too much?

Bild is reporting that Schalke has to pay up to 5.6m Euro to get rid of Di Matteo . What a colossal waste of money. It's mind-boggling that Heldt is still in charge.

Madness. How can anyone be this incompetent?

Well, they gave him a contract until 2017 and he probably wanted relatively high wages. He's a CL winning manager after all .

Their next manager should be a cutout version of Assauer with a speaker and a cord so it can spout charismatic but pointless oneliners. Still a better manager than Heldt.

So the official version is that he steps down and the rumours that he was fired on Sunday weren't true at all. He stepped down because the discussions yesterday and on Sunday made it obvious that the club wants to go into a different direction than Di Matteo. But he loves the fans and only wants the best for the club. I can't wait until Bild reveals how much money he got .

Heldt doesn´t have a financially responsible bone in his body. He damn near killed Stuttgart and he´ll do the same at Schalke.

Darmstadt 98 - the most "drunk" team that got promoted to the Bundesliga ever... - they just arrived on the party mile on Mallorca...

2 years ago in 3rd league everybody thought they would be one of the relegation candidates. On the end of the year they got promoted to he 2nd Bundesliga. Same was thought last season. Promotion to the first Bundesliga followed. With a team of 3rd league players...

god no, those morons. hahaha. also goddamit, schalke. get your shit together.

Meanwhile Schalke's under 19s have won the German championship of their age group.

They actually didn´t dominate the top teams. They didn´t win a single season series. They are just so much more consistent against the weaker teams. Against the teams that finished 2-6 this season they got only 12 out of a possible 30 points (3-3-4). Against the rest an amazing 67 of 72 (22-1-1). (...)

holy sh*t that's weird. and crazy.

btw. dortmund's CB neven subotic is reported to be close to extending his ongoing contract for 2 more years, to 2018 that is. as mats hummels has also (from what i heard) publicly ruled out an imminent departure, dortmund might only have to see the pair of (retired club legend) sebastian kehl and, probably, lkay gündogan leaving - while the latter has again been linked to barcelona for a mid-season move, when barca would again be allowed to (officially) engage in transfer dealings. also who cares. i for one couldn't even be bothered if gündogan went to bayern, to be honest.

add to that the upcoming additions of gonzalo castro and jonas hofmann to dortmund's midfield department. plus i can easily see castro and hofmann gel in fluently under tuchel, while i can also see dortmund try to make use of the services of moritz leitner as well, as he could play the now-vacant positions of either kehl or, expectedly, gündogan. though i really don't know whether leitner has it in him, if he's indeed able to step up his game, especially when it comes to attitude, presence and consistency in senior-level matches.
so far, the biggest questions do remain over the two (so far monumental) flops in the likes of dortmund's strikers ciro immobile and adrian ramos. i for one can't really decide whom of them i'd rather want to keep - if at all. keeping both, alongside aubameyang, would be utter nonsense. yet i also can't really rate tuchel enough to make up my mind about which one of them he could make proper use of - if at all.

Leitner doesn´t have it. Not enough skill for a side like Dortmund and his piss-poor attitude might prevent regular playing time in the Bundesliga elsewhere.

Surprising that Subotic will stay. So they keep all four central defenders, who all want to start. Maybe Tuchel plans to move Ginter into defensive midfield.

I think they´ll sell Immobile. He can generate a bigger transfer fee and likely earns higher wages. Ramos also has a proven track record in the Bundesliga.

i read Gündogan was seen in Müller-Wohlfahrts facilities in munich for a medical, which was performed on behalf of FCB. That is FC Barcelona in this case :D

So they fired him, but he still does their medical checks.

Without their youth academy Schalke would be exactly where Hamburg ist right now (or even bankrupt).. I really can't comprehend why Heldt still has a job there. But then again I was also convinced that they just had to let go Keller and/or Heldt at the end of last season and was disappointed. That club is just magic.

Same as Stuttgart, who barely survived the Heldt aftermath, because they have one of the best youth programmes and all the transfer fees they generate from there.

Wasn't fired but resigned. From FC Bayern. He did Gündogans medical for FC Barcelona (allegedly).

And he was with the FCB team on the city hall balcony this sunday...

just to clarify: Barca can´t sign anyone this summer and Watzke said, that he´ll leave this summer. how is this going to work? The whole story with the medical is eventually nonsense.

Well I'm sure there are options. Can't Barca sign at all or aren't their signings just not allowed to play until January? If the latter is the case then Barca could sign him now and loan him out for half a year or maybe even just keep him and let him train/settle in for half a season.
Or there could be some sort of contractucal workaround with Dortmund technically loaning him to another club while already signing the contract for a winter sale.

I am sure, that there are ways to do it and I wouldn´t rule it out. Still these things rarely happen. Its like player swaps. Media is talking about them every year and they never happen. Gündogan could simply sit out his contract and join them next year for free. win-win.

I get frightened when I think about Chinese people in Lederhosen. But I have the feeling they will often get sold... (and the garden dwarfs)

That's quality. Didn't know Germans had a sense of humour... ;)

Any Dortmund fans on here who can update me on Ginter? @maze

Any chance of him getting regular football next season?

That's ok, we are used to getting underestimated. Like Bayern 2010.

 touché!

That defeat still hurts. Pretty sure we would have won the Champions League that season if not for that :(

Could well have been. I recon Uniteds team of 2010 would have been better suited to meet Mourinhos black and blue wall than that half of a Bayern-team in Madrid.

I was still hanging out in the"noobs" back then. Gotta say the ammount of arrogance shown by certain people was unnerving, and the win all the sweeter for it. But then, i/we were watching Bayern play weekly and *saw* what kind of team was evolving, what that team was capable of, but BuLi football wasn't on many non-german fan's agenda back then. Well, times have changed...

Can any help me out on this? Any truth to the rumours of him moving to Gladbach?

Also who's the better talent, Ginter or Mustafi?

So Blatter relegates himself and Hamburg is still in the Bundesliga. What a crazy world we live in.

At dancing? Mustafi clearly.

Mustafi is the more proven. Has had a really good season at Valencia. And has now the experience of having played in England, Italy and Spain. Whereas Ginter only has played a good role at Freiburg. At Dortmund he is a failure until now.

Red is leading 1:0 in the Allianz Arena. Not Bayern but Holstein Kiel. Now the kittens need two goals to stay in the 2nd league.

Red seats are coming...

No 2nd leg in the 2nd/3rd league relegation? I really don't know

It is the second leg. The first was a 0:0 in Kiel. (The first match is not at the place of the one in the lower league but at the place of the one that had its league match last). There will not be extra time. The kittens need to win atleast 2:1 to go through. Kiel will go through with a 1:1 because of the away goals.

Damn, completely slipped by me. Thanks.

BR3 and NDR3 show the match. On TV and per Livestream. With bavarian commentary today - the last match was with a north-German commentary. Seehofer - who attends the match - somehow could not really hide his smile...

Commentary doesn't sound bavarian. Watching BRhd now.

You are right. Othmer has irritated me. The speaker is without special dialect.

That is how it could look. Maybe a Miasanmia writing, too...?
