A popular player having a go at him will undermine Perez to the fans and risk his re-election. I expect the Ramos to United to build to a fever pitch in the next 24 hour with media outlets in the UK claiming it's a done deal quickly before we see a picture of Ramos and Perez together as he signs his extension with the cash he wants and proclaiming he wasn't angry with Perez and it was all the medias fantasies. United will again have been used as a pawn by an agent and player to get a better deal.
There is also the treatment of club legends like Raul and Casillas. And the fact that he thinks that Perez is planting stories about him being a money-grabber in the press.
This has the potential to top the Sneijder and Vidal sagas.
He can come here and be great mates with Valdes, Juan and Herrera. And even better, De Gea as well

If you look at the players we've been linked with this summer, they're all over 25 (near enough). LVG wants to win the league next year and buying players who have been there and done it is the first step. He's leaving in 2 years and he doesn't want to build a team that didn't win anything under him but our next manager gets a big trophy haul because of him. We're in the short term management game now, we need to sign the best when they come available to be the best.
