Bundesliga 2015/2016

The game's a non-event, sure enough, but I'm yet again surprised how we managed to basically only get 2 chances to score all half against Nöttingen while fielding Lewandowski, Costa, Götze and Robben. It's a trend.

 That's genius.

Can't be as bad as the Berlin teams?

Well, Berlin isn't a rich city like Hamburg by a long way and it seems its populace isn't really into football that much - you'd have to ask Balu, I guess. All that aside, Hertha is still in way better shape than Hamburg.

Why do the German caftards hate Hamburg so much? Are they basically the Bundesliga Sunderland?

The main reason I hate them is because of the people in charge of this club. The amount of delusional, incompetent, arrogant idiots this club had in charge is unrivaled by any other team in the world. On top of that they treat their managers like shit and waste unbelievable amounts of money on absolute shite players.

What kind of sporting city are they?

Why would anyone ask me something about Berlin?

Nah the problem isn't that people in Berlin don't like football it's just that no one who is from Berlin actually still lives in the city. They are all from other cities, mainly Stuttgart and stuff like that. So you will probably find more VfB, Bayern, Bremen and Hamburg fans in Berlin than Hertha or Union fans.

Extreme Hipstering
 I can understand.

That's quite weird for a capital, usually they do have large numbers native to it.

Because I'm a clueless brit

Lemme guess...no Muller?

Well our's is quite weird that way. But a lot of young Germans moved there from all over the country in the 90s and 00s. The rents were cheap, the city was hyped due to being our capitol again so after 20 years I guess not even half of Berlin consists of "natives" anymore.

I also lived there for 3 years at the beginning of the millennium as well and it was a great city for young people at the time, it probably still is.

Basketball (Alba Berlin), Ice Hockey (Berliner Eisbären) and a bit of Handball (Füchse Berlin).

Berlin has a proper football club in Union Berlin with a very loyal and passionate support, but their reach is not big enough.

The problem with Hertha BSC is simply that they are seen as boring by the majority of the fans. By now it is also quite hard to grow more support, because most people already interested in football have already a club they follow. The north east of Germany is outside of the Ruhr area actually the only part of Germany, which is dominated by Dortmund supporter (which is always nicely seen at the Cup finals).

Hamburg has the big advantage of having a rich history they could build on, which is wasted for years now.

Clearly we weren't interested to do more. Not really surprised about it, it's crazy hot and they played on Tuesday and Wednesday in those Audi Cup friendlies, so everyone made sure that they didn't run more than necessary. I would have done the same. Hell, I'm lying around all day trying not to move at all. fecking heat.

Isn't @do.ob from Berlin? I think @Sphaero regularly goes to Dortmund games, so I always thought he's living somewhere close to Dortmund.

Yeah and it costs me a fortune ;)

I was born and still live in Brandenburg (although in different areas), so I´m probably one of the closest on here given that Potsdam is nearly a part of Berlin.

I wouldn't be surprised if Hertha goes down this season. They're pretty awful in my opinion.

As long as Hamburg go down as well...
For some reason, every season I have the gut feeling that this is the year Hertha does well.

There is really nothing that makes me say they'll have a good season. Darmstadt, Ingolstadt, Hannover and Berlin will battle it out who finishes last.
Hamburg 16th

Lemme guess...no Muller?

Somebody has to chill outside with Neuer.

Haching won against Ingolstadt. Manni Schwabl's first word, his is the president of Haching now, have been "Weissbier for everybody"... Proper Bavarian...

I think Hertha have enough to finish midtable.

Darmstadt, Ingolstadt, Hamburg, Bremen, Hannover are my candidates for relegation.

I see you, white text... not today!

Beer, beer for everyone! Sounds like a party, but...no Muller no party. It would be great to see him and Mustaphi in a dance off.

What do they have? Bad squad, a manager who lost most of his games towards the end of the season, a lot of injury prone players, half empty stadiums...
Maybe the shocking pre season performances convinced you.
I think Augsburg and Mainz are in with a shout as well btw, even Frankfurt and Köln maybe. Hoffenheim have looked terrible as well.
In other words... only the top 6 is save.

They're not that bad. Their squad isn't great, but better than the newly promoted teams', and at least on par with their competition. They lost 4 games at the end of last season, against Bayern, Dortmund, Gladbach, and Hoffenheim. Could happen to anyone. Dardai is a decent manager and there seems to be little unrest in the club.

All that should be enough to stay up.

I expect Köln to have a good season and finish top half. Weaker seasons for Hoffenheim and Augsburg (due to the EL in their case), but neither will get relegated. Mainz and Frankfurt are at a similar level as last season, and will finish in similar positions.

@The Mitcher
the only reason why Berlin hasn´t more fans is, because they are incredibly dull and unsuccessful. First and foremost this is down to their terrible management. They could easily grow if they´d be more successful. Their management act like they are from a small village and have never experienced the modern world. They have no competence in anyway. I am baffled that Michael Preetz(club legend) is still their DoF after failing almost every year. They´d need a competent DoF and someone who is capable to create a vision/image off the pitch. More or less someone like Hoeneß (U. not D.). It is not magic

That's insane. What the feck is going on?

According to the bus driver, he was on the way to pick up the team from the station when some dude shot a the bus from his motorcycle. Jesus F. Christ, who would do something like that? And why?

Yeah, it's crazy. You kinda expect stupid fans to throw bricks at the bus from time to time and maybe a window breaking or something like that, but shooting?

And we had just before established that nobody really gives a shit about Hertha...

Fabian Frei puts us 1-0 up away to Cottbus.

And Jairo with the second

But as it happened in Bielefeld - and Bielefeld does not exist...

----------------

The world is full of crazy people... everywhere

I could see some idiot Dortmund or Schalke fan doing it to the other team's bus, but Hertha? Who even hates that club?

6 - Henrikh Mkhitaryan war an 6 von 7 Pflichtspieltoren des @bvb in dieser Saison direkt beteiligt (3 Tore, 3 Vorlagen). Topform. #dfbpokal

Mkhitaryan either scored or assisted 6 out of 7 goals from Dortmund this season. It'll be really interesting to see if he can find more consitency in his performances under Tuchel.

Could be that he finally got more self confidence. On the other hand - there is always players that play good against the smaller opponents of lower leagues - and Wolfsberg and Chemnitz are for sure in that category - or are in better form than others at the begin of the season.
Let's wait and see...

Anyone seen the Osnabrück - Leipzig match? Just read the referee was hit by a ligher thrown from an Osnabrück fan and the game was abandoned after 70 minutes with Osnabrück 1-0 in the lead. What an idiotic way to go out, it'll be a win for Leipzig now.
