Bundesliga 2015/2016

 Good god. Is it because Hamburg are that bad overall or they just don't do well at Bayern?
Both. They're really bad in general, but they turn into a terrible terrible pub team when they play in Munich.

They are that bad and have been ridiculously lucky not to get relegated in the last two seasons.

Thank you gents. Sound like Wigan of the Bungesliga. Especially how we(United) used to hammer Wigan regardless.

From 2002 to 2011 they ranked from 3 to 8 every year... Since then...The 9:1 was even in a year in which they were 7th...

2002/03 4th
2003/04 8th
2004/05 8th
2005/06 3rd
2006/07 7th
2007/08 4th
2008/09 5th
2009/10 7th
2010/11 8th
2011/12 15th
2012/13 7th
2013/14 16th
2014/15 16th

So, DFB Cup draw for the 2nd round.

Top teams play as follow:

Dortmund vs. Paderborn
Schalke vs. Gladbach
Wolfsburg vs. Bayern

Now, thats a proper draw :D

EDIT: Oh, forgot Leverkusen, lol: They play away vs. Victoria Köln (4th league)

Neureuther what a legend. Fecking all the Bavarian clubs there haha:lol:
I actually would've loved to see Bremen - Bayern as its always some kind of classic for me but Wolfsburg is great as well. Schalke Gladbach is also fantastic, I love these esciting draws in the early rounds.

Neureuther you fecking idiot

Yes, he cannot hide this time...

Well, maybe Bayern should make a cheeky bid for De Bruyne in this Summer afterall ;)

Good draw for us with 1860 at home. Maybe we can have a good cup run this year, the last few have been really dire.

Unfortunately we tried to play football after we conceded the 2:0. Understandable but obviously doesn't work. Schipplock, Gregoritsch, Ekdal and Jung had a good debut I thought.

Douglas Costa looks quite a player. A Willian with end product?

Imagine Bayern in the premier league. Would probably get 100 points

This cup draw is so fecked up. So many interesting opportunities and this guy screws up everything. Unterhaching has to play against fecking Red Bull. There won´t be a derby, because 1860 will lose against Mainz (or any other club). Why couldn´t be just play against 1860 or Nürnberg?:( It is not that difficult.

Costa looks like a great buy. Price may have been a bit steep which was why I was a bit doubtful even though he had played well in Ukraine. Explosive and versatile too.

Was it really? €35m Euro / £25m doesn't look that steep all of a sudden in comparison to what other clubs play for their attacking players and he has been nothing short of amazing so far.

Well it's not exorbitant or anything but just enough to think over, especially for someone from the league in Ukraine.

Chelsea paid about the same (I think slightly more, not 100% sure) for Willian, City paid more for Fernandinho (40m Euro) and Dortmund paid close to 30m for Mkhitaryan as well. Key players at Donetsk cost that much if you want them.

d costa is definitely a good buy. just check out how did he use the outside of his left foot to cross the ball from the right. it worths all the money spent

Someone please create a "Arjen Robben is a black man" thread. Please.

Even if he is a left foot - he is more a Ribery-type and that is needed more, too. He looks to be much more an assistant and that is great for the goal noses of Lewy and Müller. When you have strikers like them the Ribery type is even more important than a Robben-like player.

Costa does not have the quality right now that Ribery has when he is in tune (but he is still at the begin at Bayern, just is 24...) - but he looks like he has everything to succeed and get there.

And that means that the biggest problem we have seen in Bayern's development - to get somebody that can replace Robbery in the future - could be solved. And if that is done in today's market with 30m EUR that really is a steal.

And it gives time to see how our youngsters like Sinan Kurt or Benko develop.

It is because Hamburg are just bad. They should've been relegated two seasons ago, but somehow they manage to cling onto the first league in the relegation play offs. Everyone - even here in Hamburg - is expecting (and half hoping) for them to be relegated this time around. There is no belief in the club anymore and many in Hamburg think a reboot from 2nd league would do the club some good.

In 10 minutes the following games start:

Augsburg - Hertha
Leverkusen - Hoffenheim
Darmstadt - Hannover
Mainz - Ingolstadt
Bremen - Schalke

but the evening match today (17:30 GMT+1) is by far the most interesting game of the first match day:

Dortmund - Gladbach

Not sure what to watch, Darmstadt - Hannover & Mainz - Ingolstadt don't interest me that much. Leverkusen - Hoffenheim could be fun attacking football with lots of goals, Bremen - Schalke is probably the most interesting to see how Breitenreiter sets up Schalke, but then I'm already annoyed by the Di Santo vs Bremen stories and don't want to see him play. I guess simulcast will be the choice until one of the games gets really interesting.

A few line-ups:
Schalke 04 XI: Fährmann - Riether, Matip, Nastasic, Aogo - Choupo-Moting, Goretzka, Geis, Draxler - Huntelaar, Di Santo

Interesting choice with Choupo-Moting, Draxler, Huntelaar and Di Santo. Poor Max Meyer, again out of the first team. Goretzka + Geis is an interesting looking CM.

Leverkusen XI: Leno - Hilbert, Tah, Papadopoulos, Wendell - Bender, Kramer - Bellarabi, Calhanoglu, Son - Kießling

Tah & Papa are finally a talented central defense again. Bender, Kramer & Calhanoglu are an awesome midfield in theory. Not sure how they plan to fit Aranguiz in, who was finally presented today. Maybe Calhanoglu out wide and Son on the bench? Either way, if Bellarabi continues to play like last season, Leverkusen have arguably their strongest team since 2002 and a great manager. Definitely a fascinating team.

Is that why we nearly sold 30.000 season tickets this year and will probably have a full stadium every home weekend? Despite the fact that the club has played crap for years now the fans are still behind the team and support whenever they can.

Hoffenheim scores, 1-0 after 6minutes in Leverkusen. Looked like a foul in the build-up and slightly offside, should make it a fun game though.

I somehow knew that in every North German a masochist is hidden...
