I just think he fills the players' heads with so much shit that they're too scared to go out and play their natural game.
That's the thing, most people still believe he is still the same manager, but he is not.Van Gaal's cautiousness will be his undoing. What happened to the coach of Ajax and Barcelona who let his players take risks? He demands sterile domination, rather than really testing teams when we're on top. Then when our moment passes he resorts to route one. If when we were controlling matches we took a few more risks, tried a few more difficult through passes, things would look so much different. Van Gaal used to be the man who liked that sort of thing. Now he's becoming everything his enemies always said.
Thing is, that's not going to change no matter the personnel, team selections, or tactics. Judging by the almost total lack of improvement since day 1 of his tenure I don't expect any improvement anytime soon.This.Why he as had run ins with some top players.
Looking at that again mentioning the sack is a bit knee jerk, however December/January I feel is a good time to start assessing van Gaal more critically.
If our form hasn't picked up by December we need to have a discussion about replacing him but not before that.
I think what we're seeing now is more an issue of players than van gaal, we look like a good solid unit, certainly better than last season.
Rooney has cost us points, he really did, maybe it's on van gaal that we're starting this season without replacing the players we've sold, but it's not his tactics this time.
What is this "Unit" you speak of? Does an attacking unit exist?
That is exactly what he said, that they changed shape so our players should have done.So LVG says we couldn't cope because they changed shape.
This IS the philosophy. It's well and truly implemented, and it's pretty fecking awful.HE joined and said it takes 3 months for him to implement his philosophy. 13 months on and we're still waiting.

The truth of the matter is if United decided to sack him tomorrow, there wouldn't be a lot of people in Van Gaal's corner, arguing his case. He's done slightly better than Moyes (but then again who wouldn't) and spent £250m while doing it.

How much did he spend last season? Will be interesting to see his net spending compared to Moyes's.

I thought it was obvious that he was a crazy person after about a week of him being here.If he thinks our squad is fine up-front, then he's a crazy person.
I'm not really comfortable with our defense either, but our problems up front is a greater concern.
