I can't decide whether to stay in this thread or move to the twitter one.

La Liga say the documents arrived at 00:28 so a half hour "technical hitch" would need to be proved.

The Spanish media are club propaganda mouthpieces. Can't really blame Madrid for making up a lot of excuses though, I would do the same.

Would be great if we did have Navas now though as we have a DDG issue.

At least we didn't sign the wrong guy.

We're making progress.

So what are the chances that this gets completed tomorrow? surely if there are timestamps that prove that both clubs sent the relevant paperwork in time then it will complete?

Considering the people involved (Mendes and Perez largely) and the clubs involved ... very, very high.

I'd love to be a fly on the wall of De Gea's missus house right now....

Actually, I'd love to be a fly on the wall of her house any time.

But now especially.

Serves both clubs right for leaving it till now! Worse for us mind, we'll have a player that'll hate the club for 12 months before leaving on a free, Madrid will get by quite alright with Navas.

Isn't that only for reasonable notice, e.g. giving someone 'n' days to respond.
When there is a cut off by an intermediary isn't it when they receive it. Hence, the Spanish FA not over turning late registration.

I was just being a smart-arse.

Under common law, the postbox rule applied to fix acceptance. A sends B a letter making an offer to buy. B writes back to A agreeing to the price. The contract was formed when B's letter was posted. I doubt English common law governs transactions like these though.

A club sponsored by windows having document problems . No doubt a fellow techie was brought in at this ungodly hour for this crap. Poor person.

The old popper would have turned that into a "I'd love to be a fly on one of her freshly squeezed shits". You've changed, maaaaan...

This is easily the most entertaining we've been all season.

I can only hope the madness will continue to morning... but I think life pretty much peaked tonight.

If the transfer has collapsed, we should make a new offer for Navas in the morning.

£11m is what they value him at, so let's bid £8m and haggle.

Wouldn't surprise me if we didn't realise there was an hour time difference on the closing time. In saying that you'd have thought Madrid would have been all over us when it was getting close to the deadline.

Remember the fun couple of years back with the spanish imposters!!!! oh, good times!
