he is only staying because Real cocked up the paper work, the fact is he does not want to be here.
Hopefully he will get his head in gear and become a productive team player, the big question is will he be in the CL squad, my gut feeling is yes he will.

Not convinced LVG will play him, it seems a no brainier bring him in for Romero but who knows what LVG will decide to do.
I can see where your coming from, if he is not in the CL squad I dont see him playing for the first team all season , which would be a waste.

He apparently put in a clause that if the transfer does not go through RM have to compensate him.
He should be back in against liverpool, Romero would struggle to be number one keeper at pretty much any premier league club and we have two better keepers sat in the stands but it seems once LVG takes his mind up that is it and surely de gea's head is even more likely to be screwed up after all this.
How does that work then? Surely that's a sure sign of a tap up?
For all the weird and wonderful decisions the LVG has made there is no way in hell he is not going to want DDG in between the sticks unless DDG refuses to play (this will not happen)

Have to agree with this. The fallout is still to be seen, but Real basically forced their #1 GK Legend out the door, then forced their popular new #1 out the door on deadline day, then failed to get their man.
This is Real Madrid we are talking about here, not fecking Spurs, they ALWAYS get their man. How some seem to think this is "embarrassing" for United is beyond me.
If I was De Gea, I'd be furious. And if I was Woody, I'd be preparing a 5 year contract with a 65 million pound buyout clause.

If van Gaal let's him play again, maybe it would be a good idea to chant his name for 90 minutes every game and make him feel loved again.. Who knows his mind would change..

Fair. Never been to England but have been to Amsterdam and Brussels in the fall . For someone used to 80 degree weather I can understand why foreigners don't take to that kinda of climate easy. Even if it's sunny. Felt like an icicle in October.

That goalkeeping coach can go feck himself if he thinks that a move to Spain is all good and everything. Just pay the damn plane ticket to see De Gea's performances in Manchester like other coaches from other countries do.
I just hate that mindset from the Spanish FA that players should play in Spain in order to get both visibility and better chances to get in the starting XI, including goalkeepers. The Germans replaced a goalkeeper who was regarded like God in the country and even tolerated the fact that their number 1 goalkeeper was playing abroad.
When does he come back then? There is an international break and it's best to just get on with it, whether he is one indeed percent or not he is still better than Romero.

At least he has kept quiet through all this. I can also see him signing a new deal with us now. Probably with the understanding (if not a formal clause) that if Real come back next summer he can leave for €40-50m. He gets the salary/security he deserves and we get a transfer fee if/when he leaves. It avoids the potential for the saga to overshadow the whole season and the possibility that he gets frozen out leaving his ambitions with the Spain squad for Euro-2016 in tatters and us stuck with an inferior keeper.
