More than anything he must be livid with Rooney being appointed captain. Probably joined redcafe to vent his frustration.
why did he have to get old?
I miss SAF so much.
Like so so so so so much
So many ungrateful cnuts in here. No more so than this oneHis time was up. His style of play was outdated and he knew when to get out. I will want to ask him if he knew he was about to call it quit when he was handling Pogba the way he did.
What was the Bebe deal all about?
I just watched Roy and Vieira. I miss real footballSo many feelings
Easy, you just say that Fergie would agree with whatever criticism you have of United. It doesn't really matter whether he would actually agree. No point in even speculating. How are we supposed to know what he's thinking?
Hmm, so is this all part of an ongoing WUM by you lately, or are you having a nervous breakdown? He'll be turning in his grave. Shocking that only 6 players remain. Disgraceful stuff from Van Gaal, the guy does not have a bloody clue.
I'm sure Ferguson knew his successor(s) would have to pay the price for his 20th, for his departure in style. Two CB's who where nearing retirement, his last big buy who was in his thirties, no youngsters with great potential. I think he has earned the right to leave like that, and his successor should have a chance to renew the squad, but he certainly did not leave a top sqaud behind.
I am extremely grateful for what Fergie did. In fact I think it is needless to say really. His record is evidently clear to all, even to opposing fans who might begrudgingly acknowledge. So many ungrateful cnuts in here. No more so than this one
Agreed! Its sad!So many ungrateful cnuts in here. No more so than this one

feck Fergie, what does Ja Rule make of this?
in all fairness fergie left us with an aging squad with far to many average players...
Disagree, he left us with a balanced squad who were used to playing Sir Alex football. Most of these players were shipped on because they werent given a chance by Van Gaal or they simply werent able to play Van Gaal football.
I know what Fergie makes of the latest bit of United history... he must be pissing himself, considering how annoyed he has been with Real![]()
Really? What is "sir Alex football" anyway? Because there's absolutely no doubt that the football we played in Fergie's last couple of years in charge was markedly different to what we'd seen with great Fergie sides from the past.

It was our CL style recycled for the PL. Not as much energy used as in the 90s to be able to challenge on all fronts throughout and limit injuries. It was boring at times but effective. He still allowed our attacking players freedom to express themselves in the final third and was far more fluid in tactics than Van Gaal who likes his players to be in a specific area of the pitch. Its a very different style.

You come across so bitter about his reign these days
Every thread you see this: "ooh, Fergie wouldn't do this if he was still in charge! He'd agree with what I think about this" crap. And most of them were probably shitting on Fergie most of the time, moaners that they are. But now they invoke Fergie like invoking scripture to prove their views on how shit United are.I'm not remotely bitter about his reign. It was amazing. I'm bitter about the one-eyed bollox from people who can't wait to slag off every manager that has the unenviable task of replacing him and refuse to face the reality of the enormous task they faced. I don't blame Fergie for rinsing every last drop out of the squad before he retired. He's more than entitled to do that and winning number 20 was the perfect send-off. Don't kid yourself into thinking he left the makings of another great squad behind him, though. He didn't have to do that and he quite clearly didn't.
United won every game 5-0 under Fergie, always playing the greatest football ever seen! Every game!Really? What is "sir Alex football" anyway? Because there's absolutely no doubt that the football we played in Fergie's last couple of years in charge was markedly different to what we'd seen with great Fergie sides from the past.
It was a very different style to Van Gaal, I wouldn't argue with that. It was also a very different style to the last Fergie team to actually succeed in Europe, so not sure what you mean about "CL style recycled for the PL".
Let's not forget that our record in the Europe was kind of crap during Fergie's last few seasons in charge. It's absolute nonsense to claim we had a good , balanced squad playing "Sir Alex football". It was, at best, a work in progress and demonstrably a level below his previous quality squads. We were horribly reliant on Giggs and Scholes right up until their retirement and had nobody anywhere near their kind of quality ready to take over. That was a ticking time bomb that Fergie didn't solve and his succesors have really struggled with since. And that's not even mentioning the challenges in finding defensive replacements of the same quality as Vidic, Rio and Evra.
Bolocks. United won the league in 2013 because Van Perise was having a golden spell, City were having their (now regular) post-title dip and other rivals were rebuilding. Fergie did amazingly well to drag another title out, but once Van Persie lost it the squads many flaws were fatally exposed. It required major major rebuilding. And thankully the last year has seen a major removal of deadwood, including Van Persie sadly.Disagree, he left us with a balanced squad who were used to playing Sir Alex football. Most of these players were shipped on because they werent given a chance by Van Gaal or they simply werent able to play Van Gaal football.
Agree with this, bar with Vidic's bit.Think you're arguining for the sake of arguing.
Its pretty obvious we took our CL formula which was used in the group stages and was so successful and adapted it to the PL. I remember people hating the group stages because our football was dull yet effective. Normally resulting in high possession football and enough goals to win a game without actually humiliating the opposition and knackering our players in the process. This is something we carried over into the PL, a slow 'zombie football' which was boring but effective. Always doing enough to win and then shutting up shop.
Id agree about Giggs and Scholes. Our midfield needed work but the answerr wasnt signing more number 10s as we have done. Only this summer has our midfield finally be fixed imo. Dont agree about the defense though, Vidic had more years in him at United imo. Evra could still do a job for us, only Rio needed replacing and Smalling was ready.
The squad was fine, needed a few signings to plug a few gaps but the money was there ready for the new manager. I think Sir Alex stopped spending big in his last few years to ensure there was a big war chest ready as he knew a new manager would want his own players.
