I've created this new thread as the previous one is now locked.
The win yesterday has changed our mediocre start to the season into something a little better and moved us up into 5th for the time being. It was also our 3rd league win in row, so perhaps a sign that, after a second successive summer of massive squad changes, things are starting to gel.
Our back four options have improved, mainly due the Alderweireld arriving to form what looks like a good partnership with Vertonghen. And Dier has been successfully switched into the DM role. These two changes have meant we're shipping many fewer goals: so far at least Spurs have conceded the joint fewest league goals (5).
Dele Alli has joined the midfield ranks and hit the ground running, whilst Son and Clinton N'jie look like they'll provide some extra pace and energy for our attacking options. Even Lamela is now, at last, starting to show more of the attributes that brought him to Spurs in the first place.
What's especially encouraging to me is the squad's young average age, not least because it provides the chance for a large group of players to stay and develop together for hopefully a long period. That youthful factor was epitomised by yesterday's game against Man. City, where a CM pairing of Dier and Alli - average age 20 - more than held their own.
All in all, and especially if Kane's goal yesterday today kick-starts his goal-scoring form again, Spurs could be in for a good season in the league. Time will tell, but so far things are looking up.
