He's certainly not started this season in that exceptional fashion as we've become used to from him, when it comes to goals at least. That's 8 goals in 12 matches in La Liga now, isn't it? Not bad by any measure, but considering five of those came in a single match, it's hardly up to his own high standards.

Will be interesting to see whether this really is the start of the end of his majestic reign in tandem with Messi at the very top of world football, or whether he can turn it back around. The latter is a tall ask for someone turning 31 in a couple of months time. But, at the same time, if anyone could pull of a tall ask like that, it should be him.

Was it wise to have his whirlwind promotional tour over the last 10 days? I'm sure they could have put this back a week and let him focus on football..Have him promote his project during international week

Being played up front without Benzema to do the running and laying off for him, plus his knee injury and age causing a physical decline.

I said before the start of the season that I thought he'd have quite a rapid decline this season and it's proving to be true.

To be fair any time I watched him the past 2 seasons he was kinda shite but still got the goals to hide it. He's just an out and out goal scorer now, wonder how long the Madrid fans will last before booing him if he's playing shite and not scoring.

El Confidencial wrote a couple of days ago that he has decided to leave to PSG.
They suggest that wants a new adventure and the club already knows it. The galáctico that name is Lewandowski , though perhaps within three days they´ll say Griezmann , or Hazard ...

The latter could actually be a possibility considering his current slump at Chelsea. Might not be the preferred option if his form doesn't improve, but Chelsea may be a little more willing to let him go than in previous seasons possibly.

To be honest, I won't take him here. Simply can't justify the fee.

Florentino likes to buy players with individual trophies or highlighting internationally , so I imagine that the role of each in the Euro will have much to do

Cristiano Ronaldo say he wants to retire from soccer "with dignity" instead of playing in "the United States, Qatar or Dubai."

Ronaldo has previously been linked to an eventual move to the MLS.

Ronaldo turns 31 in February and believes he can play six or seven more seasons.

“That does not mean it’s bad play in the leagues of the United States, Qatar or Dubai, but I do not see myself there,” Ronaldo said.

Maybe it's too soon to ask the question but would Ronaldo still consider a move to Paris this summer?

He's coming back here in the summer and we'll pay him an absolute shed load. Convinced of it.

I hope you're right. If it's Rooney's shedload that would be even sweeter too.

Think it's PSG though, personally.

I don't see him coming back, nailed on PSG

Fantastic interview with him on ITV though

He would still absolutely piss our league. would practically guarantee the title for 2-3 years surely.

The thing is, he can already speak Spanish, Portuguese and English fluently. He's ticked off a heck of a lot of countries there that he can market his brand and products to. Noting he already does some stuff in Japan and Asia.

With time at PSG, in sporting terms he knows he can absolutely dominate the league and pick up as many titles as he wants. He will continue to dominate the statistics and break new records. In marketing terms, he will have sponsorship deals thrown at him from Qatar and the Middle East ahead of the 2022 World Cup. He'll have retired by then but his relevance and commercial appeal will be astronomical across most of the world by then. With a bit of French learned too, he can market to most of Africa as well.

As a business move, it makes absolute sense if the LA Hollywood route isn't his desired choice. If movies aren't the one, fashion appears to be it for him so there's not many better places for that than Paris.

Professionally though, he could be ours and Real Madrid's top goalscorers comfortably before he calls it quits.

I was saying that for years but I'm not sure he would now. Ronaldo works better on his own in space which he won't get against a team who parks the bus and when he has the best creative players in the world around him he works best at creating his own space and sticking the ball into the net but we're not even as creative as Newcastle never mind Madrid!

To put that in perspective we're 18th in the Premier league for chances created (key pass + assists).

Ronaldo .... clinching goals..... winning titles.. as a captain... in a United shirt....

Nostalgia..

Not sure if they was posted yet. Worth a watch, it's fairly funny too.

He pretty much squashed the MLS rumor right at the end.

Comes across well at times but also shows just how much he loves himself at times too. Looked a bit awkward at times during some of the questions, which is a bit strange as you'd imagine he'd give the okay on what's allowed be asked beforehand.

I know he did some interviews in french too with Evra on Stade 2 a few years ago, I don't know if he still speaks it. It wasn't fluent but it was rather good.

Some of the questions in that interview are really stupid. 'What would you do if your friend disrepected your mom?' What do you think he'd do you dumb twat, knowing that he has a close relationship with him mom?

Even some of his answers are just politically correct answers, like when he was asked what if his son came back with a Messi tattoo and he replied he'd be fine because he knows Messi is a good footballer. Yea right, you're a narcissist and the most important person in your life comes back with a tattoo of your rival, someone you don't particularly like, and you'd be fine?

His son is publicly a huge Messi fan. In fact, Ronaldo was encouraging them to talk a few years a go. I imagine he would be more upset about the tattoo then the Messi part.

Would have him back here in a heartbeat! Just bring the boy home!

I found this, even in the lighthearted moments he can't really drop the self vanity. Can be very offputting unfortunately

Would he score an exponentially higher amount of goals in France though? The overall quality is lower no doubt, but Ligue 1 is quite good defensively, and has a lot of athletes in the position to keep up with Ronaldo, especially once his physical decline starts. Despite that, the fact that he chose to leave La Liga to join Ligue 1 will be held against him ad infinitum, as a sign of downing tools in a top, top league in the face of Neymar in ascent aside from the more personal Messi rivalry.

No he wouldn't but he'd still easily be the top scorer.

I find most of Ronaldo's interviews to be quite boring. That interview with Jonathan Ross was no different.

Yep, but the thing is, he would probably be the top scorer in pretty much any league aside from La Liga. If Ronaldo joins the Premier League for example, between Agüero being injured for atleast a quarter of the season per usual, and Costa being out of sorts, and Giroud leading Arsenal's line - there's a very good chance he would be the top scorer for the next 2-3 seasons. But the narrative would be significantly better because despite the Premier League's decline from its peak, it's still far removed from Ligue 1; and it's arguably the best league in Europe aside from La Liga in terms of overall quality. Plus, he would get unlimited amounts of exposure given the broadcast rights, and the tie in with United could be a prospective goldmine with Woodward at the helm. Dunno, might be just me, but if Ronaldo were to leave Real Madrid, rejoining United would be the best course of action. Whatever our flaws right now, we are a team on the up; there will be further reinforcements in the summer, and he could take us to another level not just domestically but in Europe as well. Would make a lot of sense from both sporting and commercial perspectives.

I honestly believe there's no bad blood between them too at all, when you play someone at least 5 times a year and go to events where you're sit next to them for the past 8 years you're going to get to know them and as a footballer you can appreciate the skill of the other player. That's not to say he likes seeing Messi win trophies that he himself is nominated for, who would? I hate losing myself and I would hate finishing second on the most prestigious individual prize in football but it would be easier when you can see yourself the other player is Messi, there's no shame in that.

But one thing I am surprised over is that he doesn't get pissed off being asked Messi questions over and over.
