Almost everyone seems to have Schweinstegier in their starting eleven, but wouldn't it be wiser to rest him ready for Wednesday night against Wolfsburg and play Carrick with Schneiderlin? I would also have Young on the bench for the same reason and play Mcnair from the start. Anyone else (other than LvG) made changes with Wednesday night in mind?

    De Gea
    Darmian Smalling Mcnair Blind
    Carrick Schneiderlin
    Mata Fellaini Memphis
    Martial

Subs to come on: Young, Pereira.

Yeah. We need our best team, fresh as possible on Wednesday. Though our record with Carrick in it is much stronger this this year, right?

I'd start with Pereira at the 10 if Lingard is out. He's still raw as a passer and might create a break or two for West Ham with his passing, but with Herrera out we need someone to offer us a bit of mobility and the ability to link up with players around him.

I really hope Pereira gets some minutes today he has impressed me when he has been give the chance and with our injuries this shoul be a golden opportunity for him.

Think this will be a stinker of a game.
Lousy, unhelpful weather conditions, important injuries to both teams and the Wolfsburg game on the horizon make me think that United will just do enough to win the game and get out with the points.

2-1 United. Carroll and Fellaini to have big games.

Just had a dream that LVG started Rooney therefore ruining both my line up prediction and score predictions :nervous:

    mcnair, smalling, blind
    darmain, carrick, schneiderlin, young
    mata
    depay, martial

Does anyone know on which channel this game will be on??? I'm living in France so I'm hoping some of the bars are showing something else than Arsenal - Sunderland.

The game should be on NBC SN in the US. I am not sure but since it's a 4pm game, I think there is no live coverage in the UK but we would need the confirmation from people in the UK.

In France, it looks like Canal+ is going to broadcast the Arsenal game indeed unfortunately.

I hope we don't play three at the back when we're home against West Ham United... I think even playing two of Schneiderlin/Schweinsteiger/Carrick is usually overkill against sides that probably won't finish in the top seven or eight (when we're at home). However, with no Herrera then I am fine with that today.

    Hoping for:

    de Gea
    Darmian McNair Smalling Blind
    Carrick Schweinsteiger
    Lingard Mata Memphis
    Martial

Fellaini, Young, Schneiderlin for some predictable substitutions with 20 minutes to go.

De Gea McNair, Smalling, Blind Darmian, Schneiderlin, Schweinsteiger, Mata, Fellaini, Lingard, Martial.

    According to my sources

A huge thumb down to Memphis if this is true. Clearly LVG doesn't think rate him at the moment.

Rumours of 3-5-2. Lingard and Darmian as wing backs, Fellaini and Martial up front.

What's that thing Dan Brown went on about where a united conscious thought can actually affect real-world events?

    We need it.

Right... I'm stuck out in France, I've been ill and in pain (won't scare you with the details) and had my wallet stolen/or lost it. So please Mr Van Gaal cheer me up (a 0-0 piece of crap will be given le old 'eave 'o!)

I'd have liked to have seen Memphis up top again with Martial on the left.

Think thats our best combination atm.

Really hope we win this. This league is absolutely begging for someone to take it by storm and really assert themselves. It makes it so frustrating watching us this season when we could easily be topping the league

If City lose, it definitely takes the pressure off with the injuries we have. Still, a win would be nice but I don't expect t the football to improve either way, it'll be another bore fest.

Come on guys, what's with the pessimism?
This is West Ham who have key players missing
    We are at home.
    Rooney is not playing.
How can we not win this?

    2-1

Like Rooney, Fellaini does not deserve a starting place. I hope for a good game but fully expect another shocker today.

352 + Fellaini is a recipe for disaster!

    Please not 352!!

Although it does seem to be LVG's comfort blanket in times of adversity so it wouldn't surprise me
