Depends on your definition of short term right?
How much of that is coaching though? Finishing really comes down to composure and confidence. You build that by constantly recreating those situations on the training field and in matches. We create such precious few chances in games, it's easy to understand why we snap at chances.
I hope you're right for the sake of the team and all us supporters. I would love to be proved wrong because it means we've had a successful season. It's knee jerk because it's not even January 2016 and we are a few points off top... the potential upside to this team is immense, we aren't that far off. It's also very glass half empty... it is what it is.
I just did and I stand by it, taking all things about this season so far into considerarion I call it knee jerk to give up on LVG at this stage. You disagree? Feel free to do so... reacting as though it's all gone tits up after a few months of relatively benign performances? Knee jerk...I don't think anyone can reasonably call something building up over months 'knee jerk'.
Think that's making excuses for the players tbh. We made quite a few chances today, enough for a few goals. How we scored none... Only Fellaini knows.
Anyway a fee months ago we were having 3 shots in a game. We had 19 today. It was a very lively game.
Hence my use of 'reasonably'.I just did and I stand by it, taking all things about this season so far into considerarion I call it knee jerk to give up on LVG at this stage. You disagree? I just told you why I think I'm right, what's your justification? Maybe then I'll take your assertion that I'm wrong more seriously...Hence my use of 'reasonably'.
You can say it if you like - you're wrong though.
Wouldn't have minded Jones back as well, he couldn't have been as bad as some at the back. We might actually regret not having Rojo as well.We miss Herrera and Shaw in this team. I also think we badly need a striker in this team.
There's nothing to laugh - sure we weren't awful to watch today, but let's be honest, we usually are these days. There's nothing glory hunting about it, if we aren't playing good football, what is there to watch? Football and every sport for that matter is supposed to entertain the fans. United aren't playing entertaining football for quite a while. I've been watching us just b/c I feel like it is a duty of mine, not b/c we are good to watch. Or are you suggesting that fans should sit thru the rubbish we've been serving regardless of how boring we are?Could argue we didn't deserve to win. To argue we deserved to lose just shows your bias and destroys any credibility in your post.
Got to laugh at fans like this, so basically you only want to watch us if we win? Least we know where the term glory hunter comes from.
The definition of the term? A knee-jerk reaction is "occurring quickly and without thought" or "automatic and unthinking", not an opinion based on months of evidence.I just told you why I think I'm right, what's your justification? Maybe then I'll take your assertion that I'm wrong more seriously...
Calm down, they have caused destroyed a few big clubs this season.
Do you have a point? Other than disagreeing with my use of the term? The definition of the term? A knee-jerk reaction is "occurring quickly and without thought" or "automatic and unthinking", not an opinion based on months of evidence.
That IS the whole point!! You said the caf is full of knee-jerk reactions, I'm pointing out that that's not true!Do you have a point? Other than disagreeing with my use of the term?
Wait, I started watching only in the second half.
Schneiderlin's injured?!
I don't get all the people moaning that the game was boring. It was anything but - it could've finished 4-4 easily with that amount of chances. We created much more than them, but they had probably the clear cut ones. I'm not happy, because we didn't win, but it was an entertaining game.
So you agree that LVG is done here? Time to get rid?... But you don't wanna post why that is, you just want argue with me about the definition of knee jerk? Ok... let's leave it at that then. That IS the whole point!! You said the caf is full of knee-jerk reactions, I'm pointing out that that's not true!
On the bright side we had no Rooney at 10 - on the other hand why does any Manchester United manager think the Belgian is a viable choice in that position??
In his time at United I can't remember him do anything particularly creative like slip a pass between defenders for a striker to run onto
This isn't Fellaini bashing but he is one of a number of players who lack quality - Mata and Lingard were poor as well and not really sure what the point of playing a 9 is if we can't provide the service
This year will be a missed opportunity - our only hope is 2/3 excellent signings which we won't get in January
What a let down
This whole exchange started with you calling it knee jerk to be fed up if him and me telling you that that's not knee jerk, I'm not sure where else you expected the discussion to end.So you agree that LVG is done here? It's just you being analThis whole exchange started with you calling it knee jerk to be fed up if him and me telling you that that's not knee jerk, I'm not sure where else you expected the discussion to end.
I'm not sure what sacking him now will achieve because I don't know who we'd be able to replace him with, but he's not doing anything to change my mind that he can't do anything to take us forward.
If we have a good alternative now (perhaps Ancelotti) then go for it, otherwise I'm hoping the summer will see him gone.
We have won 3 matches out of the last 10 games. We've scored 3 goals in 6 home matches. This isn't knee jerk the fans have been extremely patient but finally that patients is going to evaporate. It's knee jerk because it's not even January 2016 and we are a few points off top... the potential upside to this team is immense, we aren't that far off. It's also very glass half empty... it is what it is.
