I still don't think he will go to city, he's always spoken as if he's a football man first and foremost and a man of class. That desist strike me as a man that would join an small time club like City, he's already made it clear he would ove the Utd job so I don't see any reason why we wouldn't get him if we went for him. I think people just like to be negative and this fits the negative trend at the moment but the reality is the only reason we won't get him is because we won't try and get him.
ZDF - a public German TV channel - said that Bayern will make it public tomorrow that Pep doesn't extent and Ancelotti will take over in the summer. Pep's statement could or couldn't follow soon.

Need to loosen up, don't understand the defeatist attitude in here. Guardiola isn't some miracle worker messiah, he's been sent to the cleaners in the Champions league twice in the past 2 seasons, by both Barca and Madrid. This myth that he makes his teams unbeatable might have been true at Barca, but his time at Bayern has proved anything but. He will probably walk all over this league due to how poor it is, but with the right managerial appointment, use of money to bring in some top players, the gap won't be nearly as big as some are making out.
City have some top players, but they also have some ageing players and a midfield that don't seem like they'd be capable of playing Guardiola's way. Next few seasons isn't going to be as straight forward as people expect imo, regardless of if Guardiola joins us or City.
I was just arguing that the most sensible choice for him right now would be City, if indeed he is really moving to England. Precisely to the extent that one doesn't rate him, it isn't defeatism to point this out.
Of course it is, I'm convinced he's joining that lot. On the contrary, I think he's the best in the world currently, but in no way will it signal the end of us if he was to join them.
Last year was a much of a muchness behind Chelsea so finishing second was no great feat, it was who would drop less points when teams lost interest. This year they have been bang average In more games than they have been excellent, again it's a good bet they will lose 5/6 games before Christmas alone. They have been nowhere near the best team in England over the last 2 seasons. If you choose to ignore Arsenal and Leicester then no wonder they will always be number 1 in your mind.
Another thing is outside of their attacking 3 not one player would get into a combined league 11. Individually in midfield and defence they are hilariously lacking. They concede in every fecking game they play no Matter who the opposition. The amount of times they are overrun is far too frequent to be a blip or an off day

City is owned by Abu Dhabi. It's in a different country, you know. Qatar and UAE don't even see eye to eye on most issues.
This is all anecdotal and conjecture. The fact is, they have the highest point's tally of all the teams in this period. And even if it were true that Arsenal have a squad that's as good as theirs (which I don't think is true), City's financial muscle gives them an edge. Leicester obviously isn't a thought worth entertaining.
Their defensive woes unsurprisingly coincide with the absence of their best defender and captain. Anyone considering taking the job will evaluate with him in mind.
Sad to see Pep selling his soul to City if this is true, it just doesn't sit right with the sort of manager he is to me, I just hope United at least asked the question and if he truly chose City over us then you just have to admire the persuasive skills of their owner, because it's such a switch from what I thought he wanted to do as a manager.

What I've learned from this thread is that Pep Guardiola is the be all and end all of football, and everything City does is perfect.
Its incredible that the two best managers for United will end up at our two biggest rivals. You couldn't make it up.

Klopp is the one that really stings as he had United written all over him, you do wonder if he half regrets not waiting because the Liverpool job given the stadium rebuild, no CL, and much lower revenues is really going to test him, at United he could have really done something. Pep less so for me, yes he is fantastic obviously, but if he is given the choice of United or City and chooses City, then he is not the guy I thought he was. Klopp maybe just thought the United job was off the table for a good while yet so went for Liverpool instead, just because it was there.
Mourinho will do but he needs to reign it in a bit, and he needs to stop ignoring the youth, if he can do that he could well be perfect as he seems to have a genuine affection for the place.
I do genuinly fear us giving it to Giggs though.

Taking over the true super powers of Europe, Barca, Bayern, so United is the most logical step for him... it's fairly obvious really.
Like I say I never thought he'd sell his soul to a small club who's hit the jackpot, but seems he has.

Been correcting them for over a year but they still can't see the difference.If you're judging teams over the last two years then you have to do the same with the players and Kompany has been an underwhelming injury prone player. This was supposed to be the season of redemption but it hasn't worked out, it's not as if another year is kind to aging players like these.
Before Pep took over Barca they were a distant second to Real as the biggest club in Spain.

He doesn't just want 'biggest' he wants to work with a setup that thinks big and with people he trusts to supply the material for him to weave his magic.
If we don't get him I'll be disappointed that we don't have him, but not too worried about City getting him. They are nowhere as good as this Bayern or his Barca were, plus their squad is old.

Feel for him. No matter what he does, he's getting his p45 at the end of the season. His position might become untenable at some point during the campaign.
