Sheffield United Football Club nicknamed The Blades (because of Sheffield's history as a steel city), Red and White Wizards, and Red and White Army - are an English professional football club based in Sheffield, South Yorkshire; and were founded on 22 March 1889 at the Adelphi Hotel, Sheffield by the President of the Cricket Club - Charles Clegg (also the President of Sheffield Wednesday and later the Chairman of the Football Association). Sheffield United's greatest years came immediately after their formation - as they enjoyed an unbroken 37-season spell in the top flight (which remains a record for a newly promoted team) won the League Championship in 1897/98, and were runners up in 1896/97 and 1899/1900. Since then Sheffield battled relegation to lower divisions, with the nadir proving to be the 1978/79 season where they were relegated to the Third Division. They enjoyed better years after the turn of the millennium - narrowly missing out on promotion playoffs for the Premier League in 2003/04 and 2004/05 (eventually securing promotion in 2006); as well as reaching the FA Cup and League Cup semi-finals. However, they were again relegated to the League One on 30 April 2011. Sheffield United's most noteworthy rivalries include city neighbors Sheffield Wednesday (dubbed the Steel City Derby), Nottingham Forest, Barnsley, Leeds United, Doncaster Rovers and Rotherham United. Sheffield United play their home games at the historic Bramall Lane - the oldest major league ground in the world, having hosted its first game in 1862 a match between Sheffield Club and and Hallam. It also hosted the world's first ever floodlit football match on 14 October 1878.

8th in League One. Hopefully we play a full strength team. We can't be taking this game lightly, if we can get a second consecutive win and a few goals it will really help with individual and team confidence. I would go with the same team as today but bring in Darmian for that injury prone fecker Jones.
If we lose this one he surely will be sacked otherwise God help us fans.
    2-0

    De Gea
    Varela Smalling Blind CBJ
    Pereira Carrick Herrera Young
    Rooney Memphis
Would do something like this. Rotate a bit, they're in the 3rd league. Give chances to a few of the youngsters. Lingard off the bench if he's back, or ahead of Young if Young is injured. Rest Martial and put Memphis in his place maybe, but keep him on the bench just in case.

Pretty much our only chance of anything this year. Let's not feck around.

If LVG wants to ease the pressure, this is the kind of match where we have to put in a confident, comfortable performance and win by a few goals.

I'd love to win the FA Cup, although I'd prefer us to get top 4 again. Will need to rest a few players in this game.

Does it go to pens or a replay when it's 0-0?

Can we just not embarrass ourselves in a cup competition please.

I'd say play the same team but with Pereira and Memphis slotting in somewhere.

    We should win this, 3-0.

Probably won't happen, but a new centre back or forward signing to be done in time for them to have a go at this match would be good. It would certainly be an opportune match to get new members of the squad used to it all etc etc

Why are so many people wanting us to play Pereira.
I realise that he (and Depay) had a decent pre-season, but in the season proper whenever I've seen Pereira play, he's been awful.
This is a must win game. If this game goes back to Sheffield for a replay - I think we will lose.

    What games?

A must win and preferably it should be won at Old Trafford. This would be great for confidence and overall squad morale. Don't forget they knocked out Arsenal and have a bit of fight in them. It won't be easy....

It would be nice if we could rest a few more but we have too many injuries and I think the defense needs Smalling.

This team needs to be strong enough to beat them, but we also need to rotate and give some young players some minutes.

    That was Sheffield Wednesday.

Memphis should start this. He'd hopefully play well and score to gain some much needed confidence.
