Guardiola confirmed to City... what does this mean for us?

You can back keano, Bruce or Hughes. You are free to choose whoever you want. My bet is on Giggsy and I think he has a realistic chance of being our next manager.

That's not the question, the question is why Giggs deserves the job? Why should he be a rational candidate? And if he is a rational candidate, why should he be on top of the list?

Read that the talks started in 2012. With Citys heavy investment in their youth setup one could think that Pep said he would say yes if they upgraded. Solid planning there

Guardiola will walk this league, no doubt about it. It's going to be a piece of cake, easy peasy.

On another note, why don't we go for Pellegrini since he will be out of a job. He's been much more successful in the Pl than Van Gaal and his teams play attractive football.

On a positive note: The Guardiola appointment will rattle a few cages in our headquarters. I am sure that United will take this threat very seriously and will answer accordingly - not with half measure signings but world class signings.
Come on can't you and others get it into your heads that it's no the players we are missing, it's the coaching. We could sign Neymarbut we'd expect him to defend

Neymar at right wingback, I could just see it.

Giggs shouldn't make the shortlist.

For the same reasons Pep's name was on the list before he was appointed Barca manager. Giggs understands our brand of football.

My dad just phoned me on the walk home from uni. Jesus christ, complete and utter worst case scenario. i now actually worry.

Let me be arrogant and go read how La Masia and Ajax academy are organized and you will understand why what you are suggesting makes no sense.

Pretty good job by City. Many of us saw it coming months ago even though people were hoping it wouldn't be the case. Not the end of the world and at least it's not as good as getting a prime messi. Now here's hoping he fails miserably.

In answer to the OP.

Let me put it this way.

You are Thiago Alcantara. You have been offered lucrative contracts to play either for LVG at United or Pep at City.

You don't need to be a genius to work out the answer. Substitute Alcantara with Bale, Neymar, Muller etc. and guess what?

The answer is the same.

Again, so would every player who has played for this football club.. are they all on the list?

If it is true that they have been in talks since 2012 and that is why all the academy work has been done it is fantastic work. Oh for a board that actually has some forward planning. Who would have thought it.

Said this last week, Pep already knows what we're about next season. He knows how much we've got to spend, what our wage bill is, targets, who we're looking to get rid off.

Pep was never coming to United.

That is exactly what is happening....we are the underdogs now and the only people that dont seem to grasp this is the MUFC board.
They don't at all, they will still come out with shit about us being the biggest club in the world. Sponsers will be falling over themselves to get involved with City.

What makes this worse is the fact that we can't use the "we didn't sack van Gaal because we didn't want Jose because we wanted Pep" excuse if things go haywire (more so) from here.

Ridiculous last few weeks from us. Are we being knocked off our perch?

Wouldn't mean all that much if we were a well run club with a manager doing the right things. Instead we're a mess from top to bottom and look to be getting worse so it means we'll likely fall even further behind them.

Liverpool didnt become shit overnight, it took a few years...and we are following right down that exact path.

Pep will be able to attract almost any elite player...imagine the City squad with Pep at the helm and one of two superstar signings? The Champions League will be certainly within their grasp.

Woodward needs to be shifted to the commercial side of MUFC ops NOW and we have to get a DOF who knows what the feck they are doing...of course this will not happen until it is too late.

We are the noisy neighbours now.

It means that we have 5 months to plan out where we want to be as a club, who we want taking us forward as manager and the players we need to target in order to improve the squad.

Enough with your shitty broad strokes. Did LVG back every player who played for us as a potential manager in the future or is it just Giggsy? Hate it or love it, his name is on the list.

The fact anybody would take anything LVG says seriously is farcical.

People getting in a twist over something we've known for a while? Why?

Some fans refuse to believe what is right in front of them. Its denial.
The announcement today has removed all possibility of denial and the realisation is now setting in...and its hurting.

If we don't get Mourinho now we will be years behind City by the time Pep leaves.

We have to get Jose in now, it's as simple as that, any other course of action will see us even further behind than we are now.

Stop doing that to yourself. If they had an agreement in place long time ago, there isn't much Woody or anyone could have done to change it.

This, really.
Some usually level headed posters have gone right off the deep end today.

It isn't Pep going to City, it's that LvG is still here, that the threat of Giggs is on the horizon and his vast knowledge of signing players while Jose is sat there. If we get Jose I will be a lot happier. If we continue with old Mega ego as manager and the results stay the same I won't.

I'd like to know WHO this mythical superman DOF with his silver wand is! I've yet to see a credible person named that gets me excited.
