Turning up against quality opposition is the secondary motivation. The first one is the CL money. That's more important than football aspirations to them.
Have you watched any games by Bayern or us in the league vs. smaller sides. All we do is crack tight and deep defense lines...
Spurs like Leicester have been lucky with injuries all year, take a couple out of their first 11 and they're bang average. Still better than us though.

Ah, the old excuse of the overly physical EPL. Watch a couple of games by Darmstadt or Ingolstadt for example and then we can talk again. They are several german clubs which choose the physical side of the game to survive against the big boys. The more common systematical pressing does not make it easier aswell.

You'd think Arsenal have the experience to fight on multiple fronts (plus it's not the Thursday/Sunday axis of death that no one can cope with)... plus, Spurs have had a ridiculous amount of games this season, and they appear to expend a lot more energy in games then Arsenal.
But I mean, yeah, in theory, no CL distraction for Arsenal will probably help their PL/ FA Cup campaigns.
