Europa League 2015/2016

This is the best possible thing for Spurs PL campaign though... If they're out of sight in the first leg, they can now solely concentrate on the league and throw the second leg by using the kids.

Small time from Poch. Be hilarious if they drop points against Villa now.

I guess competing for 2 competitions is just too hard for Spurs. I can understand their point of view, the PL title has more priority.

Why the feck do English clubs aspire to play in the CL if they won't bother turning up against quality opposition in the Europa League? This is Dortmund. What do they think Barcelona will do to them?

Great goal Spurs are getting torn apart here. I expected to see a good contest but it hasn't been close.

Err, Dortmund are 5 points behind the leaders as well, yet they're playing with their first team.

Porto put up a better fight and they were missing more players. They pratically had no defense

Turning up against quality opposition is the secondary motivation. The first one is the CL money. That's more important than football aspirations to them.

Dunno about that. Tottenham try to play football. Doubt the would do that well against some of the lower teams that would get stuck in.

Have you watched any games by Bayern or us in the league vs. smaller sides. All we do is crack tight and deep defense lines...

Spurs like Leicester have been lucky with injuries all year, take a couple out of their first 11 and they're bang average. Still better than us though.

Spurs have not played their first team. Nowt embarrassing to lose like that with 3 or 4 first teamers starting the game.

They only care about the money I guess

Terrible team selection from Pochettino. Hopefully BVB score a few more.

They get blown millions upon million up their asses just by being part of the EPL. This is absolutely no exscuse.

You don't get my point. I mean teams that would put a foot in and kick ye around the place.

Why are the German fans on this forum always so distressed about their players

Dont get me wrong they're great posters, but whenever someone says "I'd love reus at united" or something they write a 5000 word document about why exactly it wont happen.

Exaggerated obv's

You can say that again. That and players like Alli and Dier hitting unanticipated good runs of form at just the right times.

Ah, the old excuse of the overly physical EPL. Watch a couple of games by Darmstadt or Ingolstadt for example and then we can talk again. They are several german clubs which choose the physical side of the game to survive against the big boys. The more common systematical pressing does not make it easier aswell.

Best result for Spurs is to get knocked out. They're favorites for me for the league, even with being 2nd at the moment.

The only reason people care about the Uefa cup this time is because of the CL spot.
Spurs have top 4 in the bag.
They are going for the league.

I really dont think they'd be too disappointed.

Pray tell, does the same apply to Arsenal in the CL?

You'd think Arsenal have the experience to fight on multiple fronts (plus it's not the Thursday/Sunday axis of death that no one can cope with)... plus, Spurs have had a ridiculous amount of games this season, and they appear to expend a lot more energy in games then Arsenal.

But I mean, yeah, in theory, no CL distraction for Arsenal will probably help their PL/ FA Cup campaigns.
