Europa League 2015/2016

Sorry if this has been covered before but if City and Liverpool win their tournaments and City are 4th, which country gets the extra spot?

Going to have to mute McManaman. Immediately started screeching, as he often does, but when he does it when Liverpool are winning, it is a sound incomparable to anything else. I think it's the sound we'll all hear to the power of ten when it is the end of days.

Nothing to worry about yet even if it stays like this. Klopps teams always shine the most if they are the underdog and can play on the counter. BVB can also win away from home.

Ofcourse though it is an advantage that Klopp knows most of Dortmunds players even better than Tuchel, their own coach.

Yep I was wrong as @Sandikan pointed out above. Anyone else want to be schooled (like I just was) can read all about it here: http://www.theguardian.com/football...s-if-english-teams-win-both-european-trophies

Imagine if they did clamp down on an extra place, and we needed to come 3rd!! Cripes.

I was arguing last week with a Pool supporting mate that it's City who would in effect stop us getting in the champions league by winning it, and Liverpool's win wouldn't actually do the job. But I guess it's the combo of both, no one greater than the other.

We're about 40-60 to even get top 4 anyway, so I expect it'll be a moot point.

Really hope Dortmund do get their game together though.
Although Sevilla are still in there, haven't they won it twice in a row? (I haven't checked, as I find this cup a real sh!Thouse)

If they get through to the quarters (very good chance) and they get Wolfsberg in the semis (reasonable chance) then anything can happen in the final.

Barca, Real and Bayern could go out and all, so they've got a decent chance if they make the semis.

Anything can happen in any game but this city side isn't good enough to win the Champions league in my opinion. Wouldn't even be surprised if they mess up the second leg.

They're containing Dortmund quite well so far.

They do what? We had more than half a dozen situations where we got into the dangerous areas with good options to score. We have one problem fo sfar and this is the accuracy of the final pass. Even with that deficit we created more chances than Pool, who fluked their goal.

We are more than capable to turn this game, even without playing nowehere near our maximum. We are usualy stronger in the second half anyway.

Watching the Liverpool game tonight, I am getting that same horrible sinking that I last had in May 2005...

Neither were Chelsea 2012, Liverpool 2005. In a season where 5000-1 Leicester are about to win the league i wouldn't rule anything out.

This game has no effect on our CL 'hopes'.

Just realised I was wrong, but this game does have some effect on our CL 'hopes'. If Liverpool beat Dortmund over two legs they will probably win the Europa and then City winning the CL will screw us over (unlikely though)

Edit: No you are right, if City win the CL in 5th we will lose our spot in 4th anyway

So would the club use that as an excuse or just say LvG should have got us higher anyway?

Sign him up
