Read some rumours on Facebook saying that YAWN will be played before KO, any truth to this? :nervous:
Probably not due to the tribalism that still exists in football.

It's a ridiculous idea anyway, forcing a Liverpool song on fans of other clubs like that. It shouldn't be about Liverpool as a club, it should be about respecting those who lost their lives. Playing Y.N.W.A makes it about the club in my opinion and I wouldn't expect United fans at Old Trafford to be happy about it.

Hopefully it's a minutes silence or something like that.

But as YAWN is about the dead talking to the living it's not totally inappropriate really.

edit. Strange that, when I type Y.N.W.A (without the dots) it appears as YAWN in the post..
Yeah that's why I used the dots haha.

It's not about the songs meaning but what it stands for in English football. It's our club song played before every home game and that's the association everyone makes when they hear it.

By giving, I'm presuming it's more like selling for a mark up in most cases. There's definitely a sizeable number of foxes fans planning to sit in the home end. A mate of mine has a group of Leicester pals and he says they're all going.

Dunno. When 96 people die simply because they attended a football match, tribalism ceases to exist. I think of all the grounds it could be played at, hearing the supporters at OT sing it, considering recent events, would be particularly profound.

There is no chance of supporters singing it at Old Trafford.

If it had only just happened, yes. It happened 27 years ago and has been marked countless times since. I really don't see the point here.

It's not even a Liverpudlian song, Marsden only covered it, it came from a Rogers and Hammerstein musical comedy based (loosely) on a Hungarian novel in the 50s.
I mean they wouldn't sing Oklahoma now would they.

The prospect of watching Leicester City clinching the PL title at Old Trafford is surreal, to say the least, I hope they win it, just not on Sunday....

Not sure I agree about Rooney, he gets about a lot more than people seem to think e.g. who was it who sprinted back from midfield to head Lukaku's effort off the line after he'd rounded DDG in the 6th minute?

Agreed he does generally work hard, but he has just come back from a major injury and he is generally not very agile or quick off the mark.

I hope not , I am all for doing something for the 96 , minutes silence ? but please not that song, it will not go down well.

I'll be honest, I'd be disgusted if the club played it or expected the fans to sing it.

I'd never expect Liverpool to have some crap of ours blasted out before a match at Anfield. It's a ridiculous idea and I'd be fuming tbh

That's how it should be with regards to the tribalism, but I don't think that's how it would be. You might even get a few boo's and it'd be the same if a United song came on at Anfield on the anniversary of the Munich disaster. The rivalry brings out the worst elements in both sets of supporters and I think you'd see that on Sunday if You'll Never Walk Alone comes on.

A minute's silence at Old Trafford for the 96 is more than enough in my eyes.

A minute's applause for those who fought for their justice would be even better.

Having Y.N.W.A played at Old Trafford?! feck that!

Not a chance they'll play that song thankfully. Hope the Leicester fans don't bring their shite clapper things with them as well.

It was a horrible thing that happened to those poor people and hopefully the scum who tried to cover it up will get theirs but nobody talks about Heysel or Bradford which were equally as tragic...hacks me right off ! I just hope we don't get Liverpool overkill at the expense of other tragedies that seem to have been forgotten. You wouldn't expect Anfield or any other ground for that matter to play a United song to commemorate the Munich disaster.

Justice has been done and Liverpool FC and the city should be allowed to honour that in whatever way they see fit and be respected for it. There's no reason for the FA to start imposing any mandatory stuff for other clubs.

You'll never walk alone at OT?
This has got to be some sort of sick joke. That's asking for trouble. Big time.

I can understand them wanting to do something and if they want to do something a bit more, how about a second for each victim, either silence or clapping ?

That's a nice idea, especially as the number 96 is intertwined with the disaster and its not inconceivably long.

Surely if we want to do something to mark the Hillsborough case it should be a minutes clapping - this is a "celebration" of justice not another chance to mourn.

The song - no way, that's going too far

Everton are a team who are playing like a relegation threatened team. Their manager is very close to be fired.
LCFC are the best team in the league (including current form).
If we play like we did against Everton (who ran us very close), we would lose.

They were the best team in England when they failed to beat United at the King Power in a game United dominated especially in the second half. The draw knocked them down to second in the league only on goal difference. Everton were playing out of their skins in that second half (one of the games of the season) and played to the level they are actually capable of. Lukaku is not on 25 goals this season for nothing. Leicester beat them 2-3 this season in a game that Everton dominated in attack but their defense failed them and they conceded two penalties that Mahrez converted. Otherwise they had Leicester on the ropes like Ali at the rumble in the jungle

Dominated possession. We had similar shots on/off target.

Had some close calls that went off target. With better finishing United would've won that game. Leicester definitely played like an away team. It wasn't only possession, United had 8 corners to their one

Both teams played for a draw in the second half, they had just as many chances as we did. Heavy amounts of possession flatters to deceive when you talk about "domination".
