Absolutely embarrassingly selfish performance. He can't dribble and just shoots from absolutely anywhere even when teammates are in better positons. Must be such a frustrating teammate.
Yeah scorer should shoulder the blame. Sounds legit. Not a great night for him. When he created stuff, he put things on a plate though. Nani should shoulder the blame for wasting so many chances as he could have put the game to bed twice over but there's no glossing over how Ronaldo wasn't all that good either.
Like watching Sweden with Zlatan, they're so handicapped with that clear star player that they look for him at all times. When it goes well, it's the differential between most and the percentage game every manager would take but when it doesn't, the players seem to forget how to function on their own again.
It would help if he could look at them for once. There are players making good overlapping runs but he's Cristiano Ronaldo and all the glory must belong to him so shoot even if it makes no sense to shoot. Ridiculous and selfish performance. That cross to Nani is the only good thing he did.Not a great night for him. When he created stuff, he put things on a plate though. I didn't say Nani was bad. Maybe it reads differently to how I meant. I was trying to imply that the better chances fell to him and he had more clear opportunities to decide the match. And that he should have. He was clearly Portugal's best attacker tonight.

Come on man.
Two almost unopposed headers and that air-shot.To be fair Ronaldo missed a big chance himself.
Nani, not Ronaldo BT.
I really wish commentators stopped saying "this is Ronaldo territory". The only Ronaldo territory there is is 2 yards from goal.

Agree with this.
Phenomenal goalscorer. Possibly the greatest ever. That's about it. His overall impact on the game and his team is minimal.
He's 31 now, not a young man any more.It didn't used to be though.
It was never to the extent of Messi, but he had seasons where his overall impact was great and his goal scoring didn't suffer too much.
wums are to be threadbanned

He's just been able to convince the world he's still a top player by stat padding.
He created 1 chance. Nani's free header that he should have scored. In my fairly critical post of Ronaldo, I've stated a fact.
Well he's a top goalscorer but not really much of a player who is going to make the difference for you're team when their backs are against the wall. Are you saying he's not a top player anymore? That's a bit of an exaggeration no?

did you miss nanis cross to ronaldo where he had a free header?
His freekick against portsmouth was a fluke
Didn't he lead his team past Wolfsburg when they were 2-0 down on aggregate?Well he's a top goalscorer but not really much of a player who is going to make the difference for you're team when their backs are against the wall.
You don't notice Ronaldo in a game unless he's getting on the end of chances from his team.I would disagree with that 2nd bit.
I don't disagree that his overall game has greatly diminished though.
Should have scored
Weren't real madrid on top of Wolfsburg though for most of the match? I didn't see that match but that was the impression I got that they were the much better team overall.Didn't he lead his team past Wolfsburg when they were 2-0 down on aggregate?
So is most of his career in the past few years to be honest. Glorified Huntelaar.
Awful performance today.
He's a highlights player. Most people don't watch him play they just see 2 mins of action of a whole 90 minute match and because he scored a couple of tap ins he is this amazing unbelievable player. The media doesn't help. When they start comparing him to Messi it is just farcical. Then he gets 90+ ratings in football games and is always dribbling umprteen players in adverts so people think he is some elite dribbler. he hasn't been a good dribbler for at least 5 years. In this era, I rate Messi, Iniesta and Xavi above him. I would even say what Suarez did for Liverpool, CR could never do because he literally carried an average Liverpool on his back to a title. He scored 31 goals and could have broken the EPL gs record if Gerrard wasn't taking all the penalties.
People get some sort of cognitive dissonance when analysing CRs abilities, it's bizarre to watch.

This is pretty much how he plays at Real. Real just creates far more clear-cut chances so that's how he pushes it to 50 goals.
