Maybe its just because I'm not used to seeing United doing business like this. All in all though if he plays well and enjoys his time at United then it doesn't matter. Juve will be happy.

This is a big misconception, yes he can. Infact this is what he is good at, the problem with him ATM is that he isn't consistent enough in his position in midfield, he drifts in and out of games. But what he is certainly good at is producing game changing/winning moments. That is his MO
Neither do I, but the OP I responded to said that re-signing Pogba for a record fee will make us look silly, as if that was a reason for not signing him.
Can Kante really change a game like the players you mentioned? Its a bit unfair comparing strikers and attackers to a midfield player and asking if he can change a game because nowadays people like yourself might see only scoring a goal as "changing" a game.
Pogba more than held his own in midfield containing Pirlo and Vidal, where even Marchisio was benched. At the age of 20, he was a starter for Juventus, in a very physical league. He has even stood out in the Champions league and is still only 23. The price tag is inflated, but to rate him as a 7/10 is ridiculous imo.

As an aside, how much are Modric and Kroos on p/week? If it's substantially less than what we're offering Pogba, I can't see Real risking breaking that wage structure when they already have a need to get a long term Ronaldo replacement and question marks over their attack.

The price of the season ticket isn't going up with this purchase. Imagine having tickets to a broadway show and not being happy that the play have decided to hire Anthony Hopkins because his fee is too expensive.

Honestly, the money we spend on Pogba shouldn't put off fans. When you see Watford turning down a £30m bid for a average player, or the likes of West Ham looking to throw money at any half decent player puts into perspective the sort of market the club is in. With our finances, sponsor money and the TV money coming, £100m+ really isn't much to the club overall. If we don't spend that, it goes to owners, so who cares, really? It's not your money. Always thought the most important was the player having the right mentality to handle the pressure and I think Pogba has that.
If Pogba was going to City or any other club for that fee and we pulled out the deal then I would be pissed at the club. United have done well so far in the transfer market, but someone like Pogba takes the team to the next level, brings that fear factor back, something we have lacked for a while now. I'm gonna say we have 3 or 4 more years before that becomes a problem.
We are about mid way through this generation of academy players who are still 13 or 14 and will become world class.
Which would put them right at the beginning of the window where kids will remember our last league title.

Yep. You can say this until you're blue in the face though fans will still get in a funk about this sort of thing. It seems that for some there's an element of losing face ie it's a bit "embarrassing" that we're paying such an amount on a player that was here and left for buttons. Opposition fans will be having a go but that's more than likely due to them wanting the player themselves. I'd suggest all talk of fees will quickly be forgotten if he comes and plays a large part in propelling us to titles and if he does he'll more than reward our investment.
In terms of marketing etc etc we NEED to go after the best.
