Mendes does this from time to time. He helped broker martial deal too i think. There were rumours of mendes working with Raiola for this. My guess is Mendes will use his considerable influence to get juve some midfield gem like Rubén neves or something for tuppence. Mendes could also give them a preference for matic using his influence with Roman. He is a very good guy to help.

Probably one reason for the really high quoted agent fees for that deal? I'm sure Mendes has a long arm in those kind of deals, but Raiola strikes me of a guy that would keep the lion share for himself.

This is what I'm starting to think, I was happy a few days ago but the realisation is setting in now, this transfer can only really go 2 ways.
1. We sign him for £100+ million and he flops bigtime (most probable outcome makes us a laughing stock for spending so much) he's not the world beater player people are making out at all, he's either hot or cold.
2. We sign him for £100+ million he plays well for us and in 3 years he will force a move to Real Madrid leaving us hugely out of pocket.
Eitherway isn't very good and makes the club look amateur. Spending this ridiculously huge amount of money on him will be one of the worst decisions this club has made.
No one cares about these eventualities. If he becomes successful for us while winning trophies, no one will care. Rivals are not supposed to like us. Press are always begging to see people fail.
I swore to advertise my bottom for a £1 a go on Sackville St if this comes off. I have mixed feelings about this recent good news. If Pogba signs, a huge hole in our midfield gets filled.....that's the good news

Even if you sell Pogba you'll have plenty of money to rebuilt the squad. It's a bit like the Zidane situation some 15 years ago. You sold him yet got Buffon, Thuram, Nedved and Salas in one Summer which arguably made the team stronger.
Well he wouldn't be playing as a cdm. He'd be playing alongside the more withdrawn and defensive of the cms. While they sit deep he would be given license to get forward and contribute to the attacking phase of play. Then when defending he would move deeper than the cam would. He'd really serve as a playmaking cm.
When played alongside Matuidi in the later games he was given that cdm role which seemed weird and limited his influence a lot as it forced him to remain too far back and didn't allow him to contribute much in the final third, instead concentrating on keeping possession (which he did a very poor job at). When he was playing in the midfield 3 with Kante, he played a bit more like his usual game as Kante played slightly deeper giving him a security blanket in case France were dispossessed. While he was still quite poor in these games too, he certainly looked more useful than in the latter games.
In this United side, he'd play as the more advanced cm while Carrick would sit deeper. If Carrick were injured, we could try Schneiderlin in a role similar to Kante I suppose though I wouldn't feel comfortable with this tbh. I'd rather see Fosu-Mensah develop into this role but Mourinho may not trust him there. We'll have to see. Either way we certainly wouldn't be playing Pogba as a cdm.
We do know what will happen... The income of the PL means continental teams are left behind. This is certain.
Fabregas at 23 was light years ahead of pogba for me. Was a first teamer from 17 and one of the best assist maker in the PL for 5 years....ahead of Ashley Young...

Pogba is not a Ferrari. He's an Audi. But we are going to pay JUVE the price of a Ferrari. Pogba will perform well, perhaps even bettering other Audi's. But he MIGHT feel aggrieved because he can't match expectations of others and himself. This pressure MIGHT stymie his development. The end.
How much have you seen of Pogba? I don't think you've seen enough to know the players profile. The money won't be an issue and he's certainly no 'Audi'. He's not a player to let the fee bother him. If a player agrees the move, it's because they accept the fee. So how can you make a judgment about a players profile - when the club know more about it then anyone. The club wouldn't even consider making such an offer, if his mentality was weak and if some fans don't get what they expect, then maybe they don't know what type of player he can be for the team.
