If he has such good contacts at the club why did he recently claim United were offered Renato Sanches but they hadn't scouted him at all whereas other clubs had? A claim confirmed to be false by Giggs saying on ITV a couple of weeks ago that the club had watched him a lot last season.

Yes, but not because of his lack of reliability in reporting titbits of information. Rather it was because of his endless diatribe against the Glazers and their (mis)treatment of Manchester United post-2005. People were sick of it polluting his twitter feed and thus he was banned from a previous incarnation of the twitter thread. At least that's my recollection.

Fair enough. Obviously I cannot vouch for this particular piece of information, although he is not the only one to report that Pogba was initially reticent about the prospect of returning to United (instead preferring Madrid); The Guardian, ESPN The Daily Mail and MEN among others have run similar stories. Not that such things matter in my view anyway.
