Pre-season tour 2016-17

Is the first game on tv anywhere? The buzz is almost back lads. Hoping to see Shaw get a run out, and looking forward to see Bailly and Mika

Was watching the China pre-season tour's show -- nice to see Vidic on TV again. I assume he will be going to China with the lads. They can learn a thing or two about commitment.

How come? Is he an ambassador for us or something?

Mainly because we play them so much already it just becomes a bit stale. I like playing new teams in pre-season. Also, there is a bit of a risk that these contests might be a bit too fierce for pre-season, especially the Manchester derby.

Its all about getting fitness levels up and making some money in high profile frendlies. It never gets stale for me no matter who United play in pre-season. Just glad proper football is right around the corner

So why is Valencia (Copa America) already with the team and the English players said to that part in the tour, although not featuring in the games? Besides, since Ibra's last game was 22 June, his vacation will amount to a month plus a week. A bit too much, if you ask me...
I said usually. I didnt say it was a given. Also the rest of the players their season ended around May 15 which is an entire month before Zlatan ended his training and Euros on June 22. So I dont see it being ridiculous that he gets to rest for a month before joining up. It will only help us during the season if he rests now as he will be fresher.

I find it a bit weird United is not playing any friendly besides Wigan before going to China to play bigger teams. Mourinho's playing it slow…

Also, I'm a bit curious to see what players are really going on tour. Mourinho already said the English ones are going but not featuring, and there's speculation about Ibrahimović only joining the team in Gothenburg. De Gea, Darmian and Fellaini will probably go, but doubtful those who featured the Euro later stages, like Martial, Schneiderlin, and even Schweinsteiger, will be on board.

From the captain who signed for a mid table Italian side in January at the first sign of trouble?

All LVG's fault! he only wanted 3 friendlies (the china tour) before the charity shield! Mourinho has added 3 friendlies since then, thank god.

Which three did he add? As far as I know, we only have these games before the charity shield..

Wigan
Dortmund
City
Galatasaray
Everton
He added Wigan and Galatasaray. There are only two games in China, when we usually play more on a tour e.g. USA. If we had not won the F.A. Cup the Community Shield game would not involve us. Then Wayne's testimonial, which again will depend who Wayne wants to play in his side.

Keane ahead of Wilson is kind of surprising.

Not based on the last game. I think Wilson will go on loan. Keane scored and linked play well. I think with him being older, Jose would want to look at him against tougher opponents. We've all in our minds written Keane off with the Injuries but maybe his personality and perseverance has bought him time.

It makes sense when you think of it. Wilson is 20. Kane was 22 when he started ripping it up with spurs. I think it makes sense from Joses POV. Keane at 23 is further down the line, let's see if he can take his chance.

Gutted about Varela. Really was hoping he would not be sold. Much better option than Valencia and Darmian at RB based on last season

No CBJ too. Hope he gets a good loan deal this season to get some games under his belt. Which are the teams that will take him where he gets good game time?

Shaw and Blind at LB then it seems.

Why though? The English and the Spanish lads are there, but not Zlatan. Even if he wasn't to play they be training together.
I guess he's back home in Sweden and as we know Zlatan doesn't get back to training, training get's back to Zlatan.

Blackett and Varela are probably to be sold, and Wilson looks like he's going straight back out on loan. Definitely not in Mourinho's thoughts.
