You are right. And instead of blaming Juve we should actually learn from them how to sell players for good money as this is something we have been extremely bad at for decades.

It sounds like it's more to do with Raiola's fee than either club actually stalling the deal out, it looks like we've agreed to pay the fee for Pogba but the issue is just how/who pays Raiola's fee, which probably will have been resolved by the time we hear from Di Marzio later on (usually about 10pm).

City had a better squad when Fergie left and have spent more money than we have since and they still were very average in central defence and midfield. They've spent a lot of money in both departments and have nothing close to a world class player in those positions from those buys.

No need to worry. The primary reason Vidal didn't happen is Van Gaal's concerns with his knee injury at the time (at least that's what I remember being reported). Had he been fully fit, I'm confident that transfer would've happened. Pogba in this case is fully healthy.
I've question, do you folks think that if and when we sign Poggers, after 18 months he sign a contract extension and Real will simply be priced out by virtue of his fee and wages. I know it's wishful thinking, but isn't that plausible?
I dont know mate but i agree with you though, they had all the advantages over us and almost even signed Pogba. Made me sick when he was linked with them for the past two seasons as i knew we didnt have a chance back then.
It would be a case of Pogba himself wanting to leave IMO, he will let us know and then we will work out a deal that suits us just like we did with Ronnie. The difference is that the fee would be so huge that I think it might be more plausible for them to include a top player or two. Bottom line is that we'll be fine, he'll be super motivated if he signs with us and will help us win trophies again.
I was under the impression that pizza boy owned a % of Pogba, hence the fee as the PL does not allow 3rd party ownership.

It could play out like that. Or more pessimistically looking at it, after spending all this money if we have another season outside of top 4, our stock will plummet, Woodward will most definitely be fired for his mismanagement of United funds and we'll end up getting a CEO who will need to show net profits and will sell Pogba since he'd be the most valuable player in the squad.

To all those talking about the eventuality of Pogba wanting to sign for Madird (despite not even signing for United yet) in a few years time, why would he want to go there if we're competitive in the Premier League, Champions League and we're bringing in quality reinforcements every season?
There is no reason to fear Madrid, they're just bullies. They don't like the competition we're currently giving them and if we continue in this vein, they will either have to compete with our massive spending power or change their transfer strategy.

Not saying it's not a hint or that he won't take it, but who of our players would have taken it? From the players that changed numbers, it doesn't really suit anyone.
Ronaldo is a different case. He had always wanted to play for Madrid since being old enough to play football. Pogba has never said such things as far as we're aware. Every other player, except for Ronaldo, we've sold to Madrid on our terms.

Problem is when you log out thats when something immediately happens. I basically said last night (or maybe the night before) it was all cobblers and nothing was really happening. Then, immediately after logging out the internet lit up with news of us making a massive formal bid. And i looked a dink.
