Haha yeah. Madrid are twats, do you think players really go in for all that shit?
I don't know if would massage their ego or just be embarrassing. No one looks particularly comfortable being told to kicky uppies in front of the media.

Guys, off topic a bit. But if and when Pogba does sign, which position do you think he will plan and how will our best 11 look?
-----------------De Gea----------------
Valencia---Bailey----Smalling----Shaw
-----------Pogba-----Schniderlin------
--Mkhitaryan---Rooney-----Martial---
---------------Ibrahimovic--------------

I'm expecting something like that to be our best team with possibly Darmian at RB and Carrick in place of Schniderlin depending on form or preference. Pogba will play a box to box role but with plenty of licence to get up and support the front 4 while the other CM will sit deeper and cover the defence. If Rooney continues his run of poor from last season then Pogba will probably move higher up with Herrera moving in behind him. Ultimately, Pogba provides us with some brilliant options in CM and CAM that we have lacked for a long time and I'm very excited about the different permantations of Mourinhos system.

23001 posts already. We only need an another 3858 posts to break Vidal's record. Come on muppets, lets do it before the saga is concluded!

Another theory:
Maybe Woody and the Juve people are just waiting for the record to be broken....
As soon as we reach the number, they will announce Pogba.

Get in! Hope we play him as 10 though with Morgan and maybe Carrick/Schweini or a new deep-lying playmaker behind, looks like the most balanced midfield for me and similiar to how Juve got the best out of him with Marchisio and Vidal/Khedira.

That would leave no place for Rooney, who Mourinho recently confirmed will be a vital player for him. I think leaving 6 vacant coupled with this means Pogba will be a box to box midfielder for us..

Exactly. Pogba works best in a 3 man midfield being allowed a free role to do whatever he wants in the attacking third.

Not gonna happen though sadly. Our captain fantastic will play there...
Then he will struggle to adapt if Mourinho plays him in a deeper role in a midfield 2. When Juve had to play him there because of injuries he struggled a lot and looked very average every time. We would have wasted 100m+ He's just not that type of player.

Most people seem to be assuming that he will play at "8" with Rooney, our captain, at "10". If you are right then doesn't that still leave us needing another CM?

If this is true they are doing it as they really don't want to sell him, they also see that we are loaded and will pay though the nose.
The 20 % agent's/pogba's cut was an agreement between Juve and the player when they signed him. Now for them to twist it and ask for us to pay it, I say we call their bluff and threaten to pull out. Then again most likely we won't.

No point in pulling out when the pre-cum is already seeping out. He'll be ours soon enough

If he's played as an 8 with someone reliable behind him so he can actually join the attack all the time, then yes he will be able to play well there. But if he's tactically restrained to stay deeper like he had to do with France, he will look extremely average. Pogba is a very attacking minded central midfielder and best traits are all attacking traits. Yes, the other parts of his game are above average but if you take away his attacking license, all that remains is above average.

Pogba is not the type of player to stay behind, control the tempo of the game and spray passes to start attacks. He likes to be involved in the final third all the time.

Agree. I wouldn't mind seeing a midfield of Schneiderlin and Herrera holding with Pogba ahead of them. That's assuming we don't sign another CM and that Jose will bench Rooney when he sees that he fails to deliver consistently over time

True that will be the case at the beginning of the season. I just hope we drop Rooney rather sooner than later and make more out of our midfield options. If we spend so much on a player we should try to get the best out of him

Surely that would risk invited Madrid right back in to the saga.

AS and Kevin Palmer don't know anything.

Let's not get too excited, this could still not happen.

I think it will but let's not get carried away just in case!

Just as I expected.

Why would we announce a deal when we are in China?

We want him to come do a medical, have the photos at the training ground with the new shirt, and made a big song and dance of it like they did with mata x10.

More importantly though we are waiting on juve announcing higuain first. They need to appease their fans before upsetting them.

I hope it's true but I question how AS would know this before any of the Italian journalists.

I see where the question comes from but the answer is really obvious, by questioning the right people. While it could be BS, foreign papers have solid sources abroad too.

We could announce a deal has been reach subject to medical. Nowt wrong with that.

Forget Madrid. It seems pretty obvious they haven't got the money to do a deal like this without off loading some of their unwanted players for ridiculous sums. And no club seems keen to 'help' them out in that regard.

based on what I see from alot of their fans I'm not sure what would piss them off most, selling pogba or using nearly all the money to buy Higuain

So when do you think this whole thing will be settled? My guess is that it has to be before the end of this month. I would rather it happen sooner than later the wait is driving me crazy. Also, we should sign a FB.

But the Madrigando papers were also saying Madrid didn't want to pay such agent fees just a few week agos.

You people are right where Madrid wants you. Petrified at every turn by what they might do.

When Pogba signs, after every good perfomance all we will hear is how Madrid will now be after him and how is soon to leave.
