Do you want Pogba for £100 million?

It's funny isn't it. The press don't have a clue what's going on. Pogba and Raiola are probably sitting there laughing at all the rumours, hence his latest instagram post. Ibra did the same trick, he said he would announce it when he's good and ready.

I feel once the Higuain deal is done then we will get the ball rolling. All these "negotiations" that are supposed to be happening IMO are done already, they are just discussing when to announce the deal.

Allegri grilled on Pogba price. Laughs. 'That’s what it is, I don’t assign prices to players. Each player has a value some low, some high.'

HE Speaks!

 If you weren't convinced it's done then this should get your muppet juices flowing. I'm at half mast.

Once Pogba is done we should ask him what the value of Bonucci is.

I dont know how this works, who normally pays , the buying or selling club ? , would it not be better to split any fee?

Juve is supposed to pay. This is not the 'normal' agent fee. It's a clause in Pogba's Juve contract. Raiola and Pogba are entitled to 20% of any transfer fee for him. It's normal for players who sign on a free to have such a clause. The issue here is that the transfer fee is massive which means the 20% is massive and which is why Juve don't want to pay it out of their cut. They've asked United to pay for it if we're that desperate which I believe we are.

It's mad to think we had him, Lingard and Morrison at the same time and we only managed to keep a hold of Lingard for various reasons.

I'd love it if we could get Morrison back ad have his head screwed on. It'll never happen.

The buying club is paying the agent. If you want the selling club to pay half then the transfer fees will go up to compensate.

I figured it would be this way normally. Though this sounds like a pre-existing agreement, possibly when Pogba was first signed from us, that the agent would get 20% of any future transfer fee. If the reports are true (big if) then it sounds like Juve are just refusing to pay what they originally agreed to.

or more like he has seen euros before his eyes and sees a huge payday.
Raiola's agreement with Juve when pogba signed was that he would get 20% of the future transfer fee or something simular. Looks like if what the journos say is true (I'm sceptical) that they want to clear €120 without his fee. So it's Juve trying to renegotiate on a previous agreement with Raiola.

Was just about to post this, it's not just his fee it's a%

Its different if you have a clause that says when a player is sold then the selling club has to pay % of the fees to the player. But usually when a club signs a player, its the buying club that pays any agent fees.

Yep which is why I said this not the 'normal' agent fee. It's not a signing on bonus per se.

as a point of principle we should definately not pay a cent more than the agreed price with Juve....

It would sum up our money management over the last couple of years if we ended up paying agent fees we arent responsible for

As funny as I find this thread, and I will keep returning to it, I have never once believed anything I hear about Manchester United until the club confirm it. Once I read on our Twitter feed that he's signed I'll believe it, until then everything is conjecture. How else can you treat it when the story changes every day depending on who you read/ listen to?!

Journalists get away with murder. It is unacceptable. I cannot STAND it! Well OK, I should say sport journalists. There is a code of conduct, where readers have a right to expect accuracy and fairness.
We are bound by these rules. If I make an error in my reports then my editor will come down on me like a ton of bricks, because the publication can be sued.
So yes, I'm a journalist as well. And I despise these clickbaiters, destroying decades of trust established through blood and tears.

End of the week or time to get moving on the 2nd and 3rd choice targets.
Yeah sure let's do all this and give up. Move onto somebody well below his level and do it all again next year :wenger:

I expect the club to comply to my arbitrary deadlines.

That's what I don't understand with some posters. I'm still skeptical that this will happen, but I realize that if Pogba is truly available, we simply must pay whatever it takes, or we'll be settling for a midfielder way below his level. There's literally nobody that's available close to Pogba's level or potential.

It's still stuck on agent fee. I genuinely think there's a chance the deal is off.
If we were willing to pay the agent fee, why does it take so long since there's no chance Raiola giving up his money and Juve paying it for us?
If woodward doesn't agree to pay it by this weekend, I think we will just give up and pogba will stay at Turin.

Thing is, most journos just report what they're told, some bullshit, some genuine real info. Thats why some a hit and miss, some getting more right than they do wrong. Some people might say it's just guesswork, but you can be sure some of the more reputable journos do have their sources within clubs, and some papers are really close to clubs too and are used as a clubs mouthpiece (Real and Marca for example).

Then you get the absolute utter wankstains such and Indykaila who will lie about anything and everything in order to get clicks. More clicks, more money. People like him, and accounts like utdreport who do use real journos info but twist it and turn it and sometimes add their own little bits to make things sound worse or better are definitely to be avoided

Latest summary from Sportwitness, looks promising:

This morning, we brought you the latest update on the Paul Pogba transfer deal from Spain as Marca claimed the deal was ‘paralysed’.

Our hunch on that was that this was a Marca tactic to try and get Real Madrid fans’ hopes up that a deal could still be possible, because that’s what Marca do.

In Italy, the story is very different, and it seems most newspapers still expect the deal to be done soon.

Corriere on Tuesday claim that Paul Pogba’s days at Juventus are ‘numbered’, suggesting that it’s all but done.

There was a lot of fuss regarding the player’s most recent Instagram picture of him and Mino Raiola in a pool in Miami having a good laugh with a cryptic caption, but that doesn’t worry Corriere one bit.

They state that the two clubs met yesterday and spoke about the transfer, and Corriere’s final line regarding Pogba is ‘it won’t take long for the deal to be announced’.

Our bottom line this morning was that a deal was most likely sorted and all parties were just waiting for the player’s holidays to end before announcing, which seems to be the general belief in Italy too.

That would require a €150m transfer fee.

It's clearly just Raiola's fee holding this deal up.. But it's hardly his fault, if there was a clause in his Juve contract, then they should just pay the man!

Although we'll end up paying it, or at least coming to some kind of 50/50 agreement.

I did suggest that splitting the difference would be a likely outcome and/or acceptable resolution in a previous post.

The problem with the 50/50 agreement is that Raiola is due a fee for this transfer too.

For the money involved here, there probably isn't a player in the world we couldn't get, save Messi and Maybe Ronaldo.

Yes, but the difference is, those players aren't available. They are already at top tier clubs, and are getting paid as highly as we'd offer them.

Was hoping that Pogba's move would break down due to the fee that is being mentioned, but Raiola has Woody bent over all ready to go, he will get his one way or the other.

Exactly. And we are getting Pogba. And we need less that 600 posts to break the Vidal thread record. What's there not to like? Saving my last today's post in case Pogba signs today. :wenger:

We wouldn't get Neymar either. Barca themselves spent close to 100 million or more in total (incl 'agent' fees to beymar's dad) to get him.
