Although I am doubting the source, I am being realistic in accepting the fact that it could be true since Madrid has more pull than us at the moment (as you noted they offer CL football, with recent success, world class players all around him etc.)
Maybe not but he's managing them now and we've already seen that Pogba prefers to focus on the here and now, rather than long-term goals.
If he wants to standout, it will be easier here. Ronaldo and Bale later will always be ahead of him Balon'dor wise. Zidane wont be manager for too long (history suggest) and Barcelona seem to have a better team where as the PL is wide open. Oh and Jose is a better manager than Zidane so he will improve more under him.

I realise that you are haunted by what Madrid have done in the past (Ronaldo, Bale, almost DDG), but at this moment in time, they do not have the cash to pay for Pogba.

If he really does favour Real Madrid over you guys then I wish you would stop chasing him - you're better than that. It will just end up being di Maria again if he comes - he actually wants to be somewhere else.
I agree with the first part about the deal being agreed, but the Madrid angle has been discussed before. If Madrid do come for him he would be second choice, they almost signed Gomes and were ready to give up on this. If that is indeed what the player wants, then Raiola would have flown to Spain, or at least meet with Madrid officials somewhere and try to make it happen for his client.
Zidane might play a tiny part in the deal. But it's the significantly better players, the current state of the club, the most anticipated league fixtures in El Clasico with the whole worlds eyes on the stars on show, the club with the biggest history. The list goes on.

I think it was Di Maria's relationship with LVG which caused the problems. Was too attacking minded to play under LVG

Most players would. We'd have about 7 players left, most of them English, if they had the choice between Real or United.
No he's a fragile kid from day 1. You just have to look at his first season at Real Madrid and what the fans thought of him.
I don't like to get into those arguments for obvious reasons.
Let's just say I think he's a world class player and IMO the best in the world to fit in United to fulfill the role we've been missing / replaced with underperformers for a long time.

Midfielders seldom get sold for huge sums of cash. Attackers (or players who score goals) command the highest transfer fees.
This is what makes the Pogba deal a little strange.
I disagree. I think Kroos and Modric are very similar and Modric usually outshines Kroos when I have seen them play together. They both like to dictate and play quite deep, whereas I think Pogba would play a more advanced role and get forward more, he's a better athlete than those two. I'd have thought they would rotate the midfield dependent upon opposition and injuries, with Casemiro the easiest player to drop regularly, but Kroos/Modric dropped for a better balanced midfield. Pogba would eventually replace Modric given his age, although Madrid tend to think very short term, so who knows.
If they bought Pogba, I think James Rodriguez would be the first out the door.

I think we're desperate for quality this time around. And Pogba is a bit of a one of kind. He does possess more varied qualities and attributes than any midfielder in the world right now.

That would be an epic waste of time and effort which could be spent going for our other targets. Why waste time and effort on a player thats apparently waiting on another club when our other targets could be snapped up? It's no shocker that Real are interested. They'd have been interested when we initally asked Pogba if he'd be interested in a return, they'd have already said they can't and won't pay his fee but they'd like for him to wait at Juve so they could get him at a later date. Someone said in the Mourinho thread that "a matter of hours" in Italian does not actually directly translate to a few hours, it actually means that it is fairly close.
He would want to play for us, but that doesn't mean we're his first choice, and seemingly Real weren't in it until very late. It's a simple idea.
