Only one reason this deal has taken so long - Mino Raiola.

Look at the Higuain deal, that was wrapped up in about a week.

It doesn't take that long to come to an agreement and draw up contracts.
Qute a different story when you have a release clause. You meet it, you get the player (Depending on if they want to play for you)

Was the breakdown of the breaking of the "Shirt sales cover the transfer fee" myth in this thread? If so, I'd appreciate someone either posting it again or PMing me, cheers!

I don't know the truth, you don't know the truth. People walking around with their heads in the sand are no better than people concerned with this.

There's a difference between optimism and people who are so fragile, that they believe anything.

Yes you would know wouldnt you? How many of these meetings have you sat in? We didnt activate the release clause for Pogba. It aint that simple. Three parties involved in this deal because Juventus legally owe Raoila a cut because of the sell-on clause. Not the case with Higuain and his agent. Hence that deal had only two parties negotiating. Much more straightforward.

It's part of Adidas campaign. The last tweet Raiola gave said No deal Blah blah blah. A few days later Adidas launch their blah blah blah teaser. A bit later they released the ad with Pogba Stormzy and the Utd logo with newspapers folded as Parrots. Go Figure

You are right about the connection. Raiola is probably playing along.

Got to love the guy, he got humour.

Probably part of some ad campaign. Raiola tweeted few weeks back 'Blah, Blah, Blah' and it was used by Adidas in their commercial. It's probably more of the same. Relax guys, we'll wrap it up in few days.

There is a lot more to a release clause than you may think.

I still think there has been a deal agreed between both clubs for a while now, it's just been Raiola trying to squeeze every last drop out of this deal.

This is a horrific marketing stunt for the transfer look at the two birds in the advert the left one is an Italian paper the right one is an English paper, the flag is on both.

Cheer up, we've all been there. Last year most of us got so muppet that we couldn't tell the difference between Memphis and someone good at football.

 in my defence, my Twitter is still going mad with people retweeting and favouriting my tweet, so I'm not a lone muppet! I'm not the only one seeing parrots....;)

You've just acknowledged my statement was correct. You realise that, yes?

That kind of makes it worse for me as it means Adidas, Raiola and Pogba are playing with the fans feelings over some stupid advertising campaign.

He didnt even mention the clubs. :D

Its nearly the same as the tweet about Zlatan maybe going to United maybe to some other club, who knows, or something along the lines.

I just mean in general really. By "no deal done between clubs" makes it sound like no fee is agreed between clubs. If he had said simply "no deal is done" then that would be a lot more obvious, as we know it's not done and official yet

It's the "between clubs" bit i don't get

Nervous Muppets, Get a grip.

It's part of Adidas campaign. The last tweet Raiola gave said No deal Blah blah blah. A few days later Adidas launch their blah blah blah teaser. A bit later they released the ad with Pogba Stormzy and the Utd logo with newspapers folded as Parrots. Now Raiola says 'Journalists = Parrots'. It's not a coincidence. He's making money from all this (from Adidas association with Paul). It's all an elaborate hype building exercise now. Funny how all of you ignore that he also said it's a competition to see who announces it first.

Raiola said Zlatan could move to a different club than United. He said that only a few hours before Zlatan announced himself on social media.

He's just hyping it up.

He owns part of a player the richest club in the world are desperate to buy.

He's a football agent. Football agents like money.
Again this isnt Raiola asking for 20m Euros out of the blue to finish the deal. Its a deal they agreed when Juventus signed Pogba that in the future the player is sold, 20% of the transfer fee goes to Pogba/agent.

When did I ever say he was cnut?

Don't be putting words in my mouth.
I didnt literally mean you said cnut. I meant you're making him out to be the bad guy.

I really do think Agents have far too much power. We all know Fergie hated them to the core. Wish more were like Scholes.....since he was his own agent (although admittedly didn't hawk himself round the globe during his career!)

He's trying to get as much money as possible. He knows how much United want Pogba and he is exploiting it.

He's certainly not a cnut, but not quite a saint either. Just a greedy bastard, in more ways than one by the looks of him.

People like Scholes, Giggs, Totti, Del Piero are once in a bluemoon type of players. Everyone wants to make money and be rich nowadays so they just go where the money is.

It doesn't matter what Raiola says. The agents and clubs always deny everything until the deal is announced.
